July 11, 201213 yr Aerosoft's Airbus X refuses to behave on my Win7-64 Home Premium system, so I uninstalled it. It's sad, because it is a beautful visual model....it kept crashing FSX all the time until I uninstalled it and removed everything concerning it. I've got the BlackBox Bus, and it's not yet ready for prime time....a couple of things I discovered with it: 1. There is currently no way to input V-speeds, because the Take Off page is missing in the CDU 2. Engines surge on descent upon reaching 'vnav' altitudes, and the profile is a bit iffy at this point....iffy on climb as well. I think it has good if not great potential, but with FSL's upcoming version (sometime in the future....), I think they'll (FSL) set the Airbus standard! For now, the most complete 'Bus is the FeelThere/Wilco version, though it's not without its quirks. Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
July 11, 201213 yr Welcome back to Flight Simulator. I too had a six year absence. I was following Microsoft Flight and got all amped up about Flight Simulator. After using MS Flight a few times, I realized it wasn't a serious flight simulator and built my own computer (a first time build) buying parts aimed specifically to make FSX work really well. After building and overclocking, I am so overwelmed at the graphics and smoothness of FSX. Continue enjoying FSX and this forum. I have had some really good replies to questions and am very thankful for this avenue. Again, WELCOME BACK!
July 12, 201213 yr Blackbox update - I uninstalled/reinstalled it, and the Take Off page was available for input...strange. It also performs better now than it did before, regarding managed climb and descent. Some of the lower ECAM screens don't work yet, but I expect that will be corrected. Also, there is no configuration tool available yet, like the one that came with the old PSS A320/330/340 series. I think this bus will be a good version when it's "all done" but I think the FSL one will set THE standard when it's released. BTW, welcome back to Flight Simming!
