What are "Jesus Tweaks"?

Yeah. Most of the other tweaks that are put in are outdated (like the smallpartrejectradius).

Don't bother with his tweaking tool. Just use his UsePools=0 and HighMemFix-1 tweaks a long with lowering your FFF to .10 and internally locking frames at 30.

These tweaks assume you've got a decently clocked quad core and a good video card (at least a gig of VRAM).

I also use the affinitymask=14 tweak for my quad core.

Everything else is unnecessary on modern systems and just fluff (messing with texturemaxload, etc.)

His Vsync tweak is also useful if you aren't using nividia inspector to do it.

where is the usepool in CFG?

where is the usepool in CFG?

You have to add the bufferpools section and it goes under that.

Go to Word Not Allowed's guide and instructions should be in there on how to do it. Or just google it.

The tweaks i did worked like magic, thank you!

How is that outdated? It still does what it's supposed to, and makes a difference.

I think Mr Bojote deserves a lot more credit than this thread suggests. Without all the previous research like his, we would've never arrived at the point we are at now, where we know what works and what doesn't for our individual systems. Most of the people suggesting that his tool shouldn't be used seem very well versed in FSX configuration, and therefore do it manually. I do this myself, with stuff learned from ******* and Word Not Allowed among others. Not everyone knows what every single tweak does/means though, in fact I'll bet the vast majority of people don't have a clue what anything means.

Use his tool. Read Word Not Allowed's advice too. Take it all in and decide what works best for you. *******' optimization tool was a revelation for me when it first appeared and made a massive difference, so simply dismissing it is just silly. Use them all, learn, tweak, and enjoy.

I see no difference with my 2500k system with the smallpart tweak and it looks horrible to boot with stuff popping up so close.

And I'm not dismissing his tool. His BP=0 and HighMemFix tweaks are the biggest difference makers out there as far as tweaks go. His Shader 3.0 mod is great. His tool also does Affinitymask, which is good. The Vsync tweak is a must as well if you aren't forcing through NI.

Some of the other stuff is fools gold though, like screwing with texturemaxload=xx and in my experience smallpartreject radius.

I absolutely agree! Hats off to all those who have helped us achieve a better sim experience through their time and efforts.
