July 17, 201213 yr Hi, Again thanks for your reply. Yes,Aerosoft is spelt correctly!! (although spelling is not my strongest subject) I have just gone back into my PFE ini file and found that I didn't leave enough space between the program files and the bracket for x86. Now I have just gone back into PFE and clicked on the converter button and the message I now get is 'No change necessary for this plan or format unknown'. I created a EGBB to KDEN flight which was there and went straight through to compling the plan with no problem. I just really want to know whether I still need to convert the FS Build plan to the PFE format as it said no change necessary. When I click on adjust FS FP for PF2000 the flight is there and I can adjust it. I think we might be getting there but I would welcome your comments on the PFE format no change message. Michael
July 17, 201213 yr I just really want to know whether I still need to convert the FS Build plan to the PFE format as it said no change necessary. Hello FSbuild plans do not need converting before the compile process, hence the helpful message from PFE 'No change necessary for this plan or format unknown'. You appear now to be getting somewhere, next step is to get this plan into FSX and PFE and fly. Print out your .brf file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Areosoft\PFE\FS2000\Adv\ to get you reference of the frequencies to use. Print out ProFlight 2000 Commands.htm from C:\Program Files (x86)\Areosoft\PFE\Help\ to give you some help on the keys to press. One thing to remember if ATC seems to forget about you after vectoring you towards the first waypoint after your sid, You will not be handed off to center until you have reached the centre altitude (default is 14500) this is set in the PF2000 settings, so if you do not climb to at least this altitude you will not be handed off. PM me if you need any further help, PFE is not the easiest ATC program to get used to, but when it works for you it is arguably the best.
July 17, 201213 yr Hi again, You are a great help. One more question as I do not click the convert button anymore do I still need to click on the Adjust FS FP for PF 2000,scroll down and find the flight and then open it? Many thanks Michael
July 17, 201213 yr do I still need to click on the Adjust FS FP for PF 2000 Hello Once your compile is done, then yes if you want your PFE plan and your FSX plan to contain the exact same set of waypoints you will need to Adjust, otherwise your GPS track will not match the flight plan that PFE ATC is expecting you to fly.
July 17, 201213 yr Hi again, I would just like to thank you so much for your help today. I have just completed a flight from EGBE to EBBR from FS Build/PFE/FSX and it went perfectly. I now understand the process but without your help I don't know how I would have managed through this. I am delighted to have everything in sync. I have had PFE for about 6 weeks now and when it is working properly it is excellent apart from the fact that I have never been able to get my TGS gauge to work.I installed it OK into my guages file and onto my flight panel and yet despite having all the TGS items enabled in the settings I have never got the green arrow to point me in the right direction nor had any audio support.I don't know whether or not you use this gauge but if you do I am wondering whether or not you have experienced this issue. If you can help it would be great but if not please don't concern yourself. Anyway, many thanks again and if you lived closer to me I would buy you a pint and probably discuss the wonders of flight simulation!!! Michael
July 17, 201213 yr Hello Michael Congratulations, its great when it all comes together with PFE. I had been following your trials and tribulations regarding PFE on Flightsim.com and the Oncourse forum and now here, really glad you stuck at it, many would not have. Regarding the Taxi guidance, I have never tried to get these going as I use FSCommander networked on an old laptop, this lets me see visually where I am going on the airport. Here is a shot of the laptop running over WideFS on tonights flight EGKK-LSZH, FSCommander with The PFE_Displayer and Remote text showing the output from PFE. And finally having landed courtesy of PFE Time now for another beer then off to bed,
July 18, 201213 yr Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes,PFE is brilliant when it is working properly. However,I am determined to crack this Taxi Guidance System and despite having some brief interation with Dave on the PFE support site nothing has really been resolved.I know there is a TGS Display which can be set up on another PC but I am not really sure how this works. It is a nightmare when trying to find the departing runway and when taxing following a landing-tends to spoil the experience somewhat. The strange thing is that the taxi guage has been installed with no issues but just does not kick in on pushback or following a landing-a real mystery. Your pictures were very interesting and I am just wondering how it works in practice-is this a taxi guidance system? Anyway,be good to hear from you again. Michael
July 18, 201213 yr Hello The programs running on the laptop are Remote text which is part of PFE, used to show the output of ATC and your replies on a second machine over the network. PFE_Displayer also part of PFE which shows the relevant commands available for the Frequency you are tuned to, also best run networked And finally FSCommander, flightplanner and moving map which has the ability to auto zoom in when you are on the airport giving you an overview of the Taxiway system and a moving plane icon showing your progress as you taxi. All of these along with AS2012 and firefox is running via WideFS and Simconnect on an old IBM Thinkpad P4M 1.8 ghz that I picked up off Ebay for £90 a few years back. http://www.fscommander.com/
July 19, 201213 yr Hi Again, Once again thanks for your reply and your information,I really appreciate your assistance. I have a spare laptop/netbook and I can obviously download the PFE TGS Displayer app on to it.However when I am in game and using my normal desktop and I am looking for taxing directions how do I incorporate the app into it-how do I link them together(sorry that I am not very 'techy'). You have been really helpful to me and FS Build/PFE and FSX are now running great thanks to you and I much appreciate it. However,I am wondering whether I can use your expertise and experience in respect of one other issuse in relation to FS Build. When I am in FS Build and I want to plan a transatlantic flight from say EGLL to KJFK I would normally go in and put in the 2 airports then press 'auto generate' and then press build. Now having watched the tutorial video in respect of NATS I understand the process of compiling the transatlantic route via the PM and SN buttons and completing it with the 'insert route button'. So what I am unsure about is this-Do I input the flight plan as normal and press autogenerate and build, then complete the NATS process and then click autogenerate and build again or do I leave autogenerate/build buttons alone for a 2nd time. I would really appreciate it if you could clarify this process. Also when in PFE and completing the 'oceanic airspace' section and entering the start and end process is it just the individual numbers in the flight plan that signify this? Really sorry to trouble you again but your help is really invaluable and I really appreciate your time. I have been posting on various sim forums for the past couple of years in order to pick up the right processes but you are by far the most helpful-many thanks. Look forward to hearing from you. Michael

Hello To get any of the Utilities included with PFE i.e RemoteText, PFE_Display or the standalone TGS display running over your network you will need WideFS from Pete Dowson. http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Well worth doing though, as RemoteText and PFE_Display are invaluable running on a separate machine On the FSbuild question regarding NATs, I wish I could help but I really do not know. I use FSCommander for all my flight planning and have not looked at FSbuild for a long time, until I reinstalled it the other day in order to help resolve your problem. You could have a read in this old thread where Nat Tracks were discussed, Ron Ginsberg (Ronzie) is very well versed in FSbuild planning, hopefully if you post your question in the Radar Contact forum he will see it (or PM him). http://forum.avsim.n...ks#entry2129306
July 19, 201213 yr Hi, Many thanks for your reply and information. I might well have a look at FS Commander as it may have better options for me. Once again many thanks for all your help and I hope you do not mind if I contact you again in the future should I requiire to tap in to your excellent expertise again. I still owe you a pint!!!
