July 19, 201213 yr What the heck! It says connection error. Well, there is nothing wrong with the internet connection obviously. It is just the GFWM client that is not responding. Anyone have this happen? Live service is just not accessible. What do I need to do to get it up again? I'm sure this is nothing new. Thanks
July 19, 201213 yr With GFWM you mean the Games for Windows Marketplace? Or do you get the error when starting Flight and you have to connect to Xbox Live (GFWL)? If it's the latter, i sometimes have the same. It could be Live service is down, but sometimes I get the error at the same time that i get the message that I am logged in :P You can ignore the error if that's the case, i guess it's a timing issue. July 19, 201213 yr Author I don't know anything about X-B0X. I mean GFWM will not open so I can start flight as I normally would. There is no other problem with the computer.
July 19, 201213 yr But what is GFWM? I don't know the abbreviation, so i'm not sure what you are talking about. Mark
July 19, 201213 yr Hi ! I'm in the same case as Air1 : GFWM = Games For Windows Marketplace. I tryed some advice fund in the Support FAQ at Microsoft Flight .com but nothing solve this problem . Uninstalling Windows live essential 2011, reinstalling them, renaming as advised in the support the directory catroot2, and some others twick... Nothing ! Uninstaling the whole game Flight and GWLClient and reinstalling them = nothing better ! Problem : as soon as I launch the program GFWM I just only get a windows for Games For Windows Marketplace and nothing append . Before when that worked I got the same window and instantanily after a connexion assistant with my ID and password ready to connect pressing a "connect button" and I got the Marketplace for Xbox Live and PC games. Since yesterday afternoon this GFWM does'nt function no more ! Best regards gerard
July 19, 201213 yr Author I normally open Games for Windows Marketplace (GFWM) Then click on My downloads and that brings up the Microsoft flight downloads that I have bought. Then click on PLAY to start the game. But I can not get past the first screen. This has always worked well up to last night.
July 19, 201213 yr Why not just load the game directly? If the problem is the Marketplace, which it seems to be from posts on the Steam Forum, there's no reason to let that keep you from playing. Installation of Flight should have given you a shortcut icon to the game, somewhere in your Start Menu if not on your desktop. If for some reason it did not, open the folder where Flight is installed and click directly on the Flight program.

I did not have an icon shortcut on my Desk top, I do now. Thanks again. Hope this works for Gerard as well. I will have to check the Steam forum and see what is going on.
July 19, 201213 yr Ok ! Here is the same I launch always Flight with his icon and that works well all the time ; the only thing who does'nt work more is the Game For Windows Marketplace when we try to launch it with the icon GFWM... For the rest all is OK ! I have answered to this thread because I get the same issue as Air1 with GFWM program ...! Perhaps a momentaneous problem ...?!
July 19, 201213 yr Author Glad it worked out for you Gerard and welcome to the forum, you can always get help here. Thanks again RoboRay for a simple solution that should have been obvious.
July 19, 201213 yr The simplest solution is often the hardest one to see. That's why I love forums for asking questions... I may not be able to figure something out for myself, but I'm sure somebody else will see the answer as soon as I ask. :Peace:
July 19, 201213 yr To All thank you for the help and advice ! I have read on steam flight forum that others get the same anomaly. For one the problem was an unresponding (temporarily down) Game For Windows Marketplace server... It seems we are in a down pass from GFWM service ! I hope and wait for a normal resume situation ! Good flights Gerard
July 19, 201213 yr Hey ! That is solved for me . Again GFWMarketplace work well ! The server was momentaly down ! Bye
