August 27, 201213 yr No other programs except FSX and OpusFSX server. I was in the default trike for my test. My config options mirror the manual. 30 minutes updates or 50 km, visibility 30 miles on the ground, no metar input file selected, cirrus clouds enabled. As I stated above, the second time I tried it, the weather was correct based on the METAR, 4 miles vis with rain and clouds. However, I experienced non-stop stutters.
August 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member Can we start off with the spy button? I am going to set up my system with the trike, I will only be a few minutes. Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr Can we start off with the spy button? I am going to set up my system with the trike, I will only be a few minutes. Stephen I shouldn't after you accused me of being a plant......but I'm game, I'll setup at KJAX in the trike.

While we are waiting what PC and op sys do you have? If you turn off Live Weather in the config does the stuttering stop? Try turning Live Camera off as well and see if it has any effect? Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr Ok, here are my steps: Start FSX, default trike loaded, Selecting KJAX, Active runway as my current location, click Fly Now Once FSX loads, I start FSXSERVER.exe. The Weather Tab goes grey and the weather updates as it should be according to the METAR. Now, my frames are stable at 40, but again, I have stutters. My settings in the weather tab are as follows: Under static weather themes: Enable Weather Themes checked, Clear skies selected Under Dynamic Weather Themes: Lie weather updates every 30 minutes or 50 km, enable cirrus clouds checked, 48km selected for max surface vs. My system specs are: i7 860 OC 3.8 GHz 8 GB ram Windows 7 x64 Nvidia GTX 560 ti Turned off live camera, still stutters....
August 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member I'm just testing in the trike at east mids then I will move overto kjax No problems or stutter here so it should have anything to do with the trike, I have rain with about 8k vis and three cloud layers plus cirrus. Can you answer the above questions (previous post) and try the spy button in the top rh corner just after starting the server program, leave FSX running. Stephen Do you have FSUIPC4 installed, the free version will be good enough. Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr Here are my screenshots, yes I have a registered version of FSUIPC4 installed, latest version. Not sure if this matters or not also, I run FSX in windowed mode, not fullscreen.
August 27, 201213 yr Are you using anything like trackIR or Accufeel? Stephen No. So, I've done as you asked and I still have stutters.....I'd like to ask for an apology for calling me a plant to "stir things up". I know you edited your post so it doesn't show that you said it, but I saw it and that's all that matters.
August 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member What about your .NET Framework, can you check your c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder you should have v2.0 installed. What happens when you start moving and does the stuttering stop as soon as you stop OpusFSX? Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr In my .net folder I have: v1.0.3705 v1.1.4322 v2.0.50727 v3.0 v3.5 V4.0.30319 The stutters happen as soon as I start moving, if I close OpusFSX, FSX pauses, I unpause and the stutters are gone.
August 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member I do apologise but when you didn't seem keen to even investigate what was happening we did wonder. How about altering your target frame rates, and do you have the HIGHMEMFIX=1 in your FSX.cfg file. Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr BTW, the weather is still loaded so it's not a texture or clouds issue, the issue seems to be while OpusFSX is running. I have the HIGHMEMFIX tweak in my FSX.cfg and I have lowered my frames to locked at 25, and it seems as if the stutters have gone, maybe it was my frames being locked at 40 causing the issue. However, the visibility has now changed to 10 and there is no rain, so I'm going to find another airport with low vis and rain just to make sure.
August 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member Ok I think I am beginning to understand. Can you enable live weather and check you camera configurations. Do you have any cameras configured, if not please try an create a virtual cockpit one and save the camera views and see what happens. Stephen
August 27, 201213 yr Ok, now at KDAB with vis 3 miles and rain, no stutters at frames locked at 25. I have no cameras setup, but I'll create one now.
