July 22, 201213 yr Since purchasing Pro Flight Emulator I have not been able to get the TGS guage to work. I have set it up correctly with the tgs.gau in my guages folder.I have put the tgs into 3 aircraft and the TGS guidance box shows up on the aircraft panel.Occasionally when I enter FSX it very briefly lights up with the green arrow but only for about a second, then it goes off and is then totally inactive even on pushback. In addition I do not get any audio support either. At large airports it is so difficult to find the correct departure runway and I do not really want to get involved with reading the airport maps. The TGS system was probably the main reason that I decided to purchase PFE. I have been on the PFE support forum but in truth my problem has not been solved.. I purchased version 1.84 from Aerosoft and then used the cumulative updates from PFE to get TGS installed. PFE itself is excellent apart from this particular issue and I am wondering whether anyone else has had the same problem and if so could someone possibly assist me. I thank you in anticipation.
July 22, 201213 yr Use the voice guidance only. It works for me. Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
July 22, 201213 yr Hi, Thanks for your reply. Can I ask you what you have enabled to get the voice guidance because I have never ever heard the voice guidance at any time despite having everything enabled in this section. Are you also saying that your green pointer does not work too? Look forward to hearing from you.
July 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member Do you have it turned on in PFE? Options?? Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
July 22, 201213 yr Hello I doubt that you will be successful with the TGS, even Dave March admits in the documentation that it can be a bit flaky. If you do not want to run FSCommander or Flightkeeper on a seperate machine then maybe these Taxiway gauges may be of interest: http://library.avsim...gau&DLID=119551 Or for a payware solution http://secure.simmar...rport-gps.phtml Or.... load your plan into the FSX GPS, turn the FSX ATC voice off and let FSX ATC show you the way with its visual guidance arrows. Then just cancel FSX ATC once you get to the holding point. Your route to the active runway may differ from the call outs in PFE but if you just need to get from A to B then this will work
July 22, 201213 yr This is my setting. It's been 98% correct except where there are very short taxi links. Probably because I've set the prompt distance quite high. i've only ever used the voice because rarely there's room for a cockpit gauge and it's not very "realistic". The best way would be for PFE to find some way of simulating the default guidance system by turning on the taxiway lights and give the instruction "Follow the Greens" Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
