Why is SunSkyJet's KPHL for FSX not newsworthy?

Featured Replies

What is the reason why this release isn't front page headline news here on Avsim? It did not even get mentioned in the daily news columns. If it were from FSD, or Aerosoft, or Blueprint as payware it would receive that attention. Instead here is an absolutely top-tier FSX scenery add on that is donation supported, but rivals anything else out there and getting no attention as news from the staff here.

At 3 pages in length in only a day-and-a-half the FSX Forum discussion topic on this release is perhaps the hottest thread on Avsim right now. Just another indicator of it's significance!

How's this oversight happening?

The KPHL dev team would have needed to submit it as News to the Front Page Editor in order for it to be on the FP, as that was done today at 13:45 thats good reason , second reason is freeware needs to be truely outstanding to be posted, thanks to your post it will get investigated further , I did see Avsim Staff were among those praising the release, we can but hope posting it doesn't blow away his bandwidth.

Chuck,

A big thank you for explaining. Obviously I was not aware of the requirement to submit and I am enthused to see that Ian's team has now done so. I am in no way vested in his team, just a a long-long-long-term sim enthusiast and a former resident of the greater Philadelphia area with high familiarity of that airport area. I have spent about an hour circling over the results of the teams efforts and am pleasantly astonished by the detail and accuracy. Some of the initial issues reported, including two of mine, now appear to be cause and effect of other add-ons. In my case my two issues went away when I deselected an EZ Object library.
