Hi Everyone,

Looking at a new GFX card that works well with the pmdg ngx/Rex/addon scenery...

I am looking at purchasing the new nVidia GTX670 (http://www.ebuyer.com/368329-msi-gtx-670-2gb-gddr5-dual-dvi-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-graphics-card-n670gtx-pm2d2gd5-oc) or would I better be getting a GTX580 from the 500 series? I've read some people have had issues with the 600 or am I thinking of something else?

My current system is a sandy bridge i5 2600k OC'd to 4.7Ghz, 8gig of ram, and a GTX560Ti outputting to a 37inch monitor on 1920x1080 resolution.

Looking to buy the new GFX card on the 7th August - so any advice or suggestions/ help before then would be great :)

Cheers

Will You sell your old GTX560Ti ??

From what I have read the 670 and 680 perform on par to each other for fsx, the 660ti is also a great upgrade. The Processor is the main thing for fsx so I would upgrade that if I was you, perhaps to a i5 3670k.

Hi.

I've got the gtx 670, and it doesn't even get to 100 percent with adding scenery, full sliders, and ngx and active sky. It's more than enough. However fsx on that configuration will easily max out the i5 3570k overclocked to 4.4 ghz.

Take the advice above. The 670 is great for gaming/fsx, but the processor is even more important.

What do you mean,max out?

I mean, there isn't much headroom. Running flat out with everything mentioned above, I'll hit around 40 fps minimum on the ground.
