  1. I mean, there isn't much headroom. Running flat out with everything mentioned above, I'll hit around 40 fps minimum on the ground.
  2. Hi. I've got the gtx 670, and it doesn't even get to 100 percent with adding scenery, full sliders, and ngx and active sky. It's more than enough. However fsx on that configuration will easily max out the i5 3570k overclocked to 4.4 ghz. Take the advice above. The 670 is great for gaming/fsx, but the processor is even more important.
  3. Onwards to multicrew :DJust kidding, well done guys. Great to hear. Hopefully getting on the xplane bandwagon will limit the "its a limitation of fsx" responses in the forum.
  4. Oh? Is this not a flight simulation forum.I think you will find them in abundance...
  5. Ah, my bad - The CDU MSG light should work, was thinking of the reset switch :)
  6. Drag required is an advisory message, not an alert, so it won't illuminate the light. - Peter
  7. +1, but I'm sure they'll eventually get there
  8. I had the exact same issue that was resolved by updating drivers for GPU and sound card. If it's still not solved, make a ticket - they got it solved for me!Good luck :)
  9. Had the exact same problem, and did everything you did, and eventually narrowed it down to the sound card, which was something I overlooked during tests. Try the following and post back.1) load FSX In a default aircraft and hit 'q' to mute sound.2) quit FSX to save the mute flag for next startup 3) load up the NGX and see if it still does itSeemed to fix it for me - I'll try and get the link to my post. Otherwise I'd probably say the graphics on your rig is the weak link. Now I have to put up witha completely silent flight :(- Peter
  10. Figured that it only happens when sound is on - when I disable it the crash seems to go away. Although now I can get to flying it, has anyone had this problem, and any solutions?
  11. Hey guys, Of what I've seen, the 737 looks AMAZING, but I struggle to get it into the air.I'll lay out what's going on and my thoughts, and hopefully someone who's been through it can throw in their two cents. Since purchasing the 737NGX, I've installed by the book on a fresh FSX install.SP1 + SP2 + NGX What I've been getting is about one minute after starting the sim, a BSOD flashes up for under 1/2 a second, and then I get my BIOS startup screen. What I suspected was hardware, as there was nothing in the error log, and the OS wouldn't just hard reboot itself. So I set CPU and MB back to factory settings, tested the RAM, completely built a new fsx.cfg, followed the intro tweaks and whatnot. Now, after that, it ran beautifully - I didn't try and fly, but had a play around with it while parked, and it was all going well. Came home today expecting a good flight, but the issue is back again! I've narrowed it down to a few possible sources:Video driversSound Drivers - which do I disable to test?PSU - can't keep up?GPU - I've dialed back nearly every setting to min with no effect, so I don't think its the graphics card.CPU - has never been a problem before - overheating?RAMFSX737NGX Notes:Limiting FPS externally to 20Sometimes FSX uses max of 50% CPU, and others it goes and hogs the full 100%Could the system be taxed too heavy and the PSU not keeping up? or maybe a component overheating?I'm pretty set on hardware, as it looks suspiciously like a STOP error.Tried to get the BSOD to stay up, but disabling via boot screen / control panel / BIOS hasn't changed itIt did happen VERY rarely with the 747, and the obvious thing they share is PMDGsounds.dll, so I still included the sound drivers as possible. Intel Core 2 DuoNvidia 9500 GT3GB RAMWindows XP Professional - SP3Dual monitors (I also tried disabling second monitor, but no change) Any thoughts would be really appreciated - Peter
  12. I think this has been addressed by the team, but may be wrong (one of the issue tracking threads, or the debrief one) - try updating the liveries with the ones off the site using the livery manager.- Peter JonesEDIT:
  13. I'm running the nVidia 9500 GT, and although the performance is nothing amazing, it's definitely above acceptable. I'd say that if you're looking for performance, a higher rated CPU and low graphics would be more preferable than high graphics and a low class CPU. Also, my personal preference is towards nVidia, both in comparability and my first hand experiences.Hope I've helped a tad :)- Peter Jones
