July 28, 201213 yr I was using AS12 Beta just fine up until today. I noticed that the AS12 program released it's SP1 update. I loaded a flight and tried to start AS12. I recieved an error message that states - "A critical error occured: Application failed to load - Root element is missing" I thought that the new SP1 update might need to be downloaded and executed to fix this error. I download and installed the new SP1. Same result. I now can't run the program at all. The same error message occurs. What gives?
July 28, 201213 yr From the knowledgebase - "We believe this is caused by a corrupt file in the AS2012 installation (.xml file). Please re-install AS2012, by uninstalling and removing all saved data, then reinstall... removing the saved data is important to remove the corrupt file and allow it to re-generate. You can keep your "Snapshots", but all other data should be removed before installing again. If this does not solve the problem, please open a support ticket." DJ
August 2, 201213 yr removing the saved data is important to remove the corrupt file and allow it to re-generate DJ What is the saved data you are talking about. As far as I know, I have no saved data. When I run AS2012 Build 4479 I let it select the WX influenced theme and textures for the flight. I have not created and saved any themes. Michael Cubine
August 2, 201213 yr Everything in C:\Users\(Your username)\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS2012 except "Snapshot" is what should go - DJ
