No strobe on Realair Lancair

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have most things now working to pat (except Aerosoft Catalina) with LINDA, but for some reason I am unable to get the strobe light switch to interract correctly. I can assign all the other switches via LINDA but not the strobe lights. Well, not exactly, I can assign the off position but not the on position! Any help appreciated as always, thanks.

Hello Howard,

what do you mean exactly?

Is it impossible to assign with LINDA, meaning LINDA refuses that?

Or could you assign it, but it does not work with the lancair?

You say, you assign every addon separately.

You know, that you should assign a FSX standard plane with all standard function, after that, this is the ground configuration for all other addons. So, e.g. the gears work normaly with the most addons, lights almost also.

So, I do not own the Lancair, so I can't say if they use custom lights.

Maybe it is so, we need to make a special LINDA module for it.

(you can talk to RealAir, sponsoring me the Lancair and I will make a module ^_^ )

hope, that helps...

Hi Guenter, sure, yes, I can assign all the switches for all the lights and they all work. However, when I assign the strobe light, in exactly the same manner (as the basic FSX default profile) it will not switch off, it will only switch on. It works in other aircraft. It appears to be an issue with that particular assignment. I suspect it may be to do with the aircraft and not LINDA, but I was hoping you may have an idea.

Hi Howard,

I make a test to try to solve your problem. But i cannot simulate it.

Strobe lights, nav lights, landing lights and panel lights works fine for me (ON and OFF) with basic FSX light library on the RealAir Legacy.

I cannot help more then but if you want more tests i can do it.

Many thanks Michel, much appreciated. Hmmm, very odd, I think I will try a repair or reinstall of the Lancair and see if that brings any happy conclusion...

I do not think that a reinstall solves anything.

Developers make customs lights.

Maybe this is not a big thing for me to make a LINDA module (no promisses), but it is impossible when I do not have the addon.

In other words, this is not a fault of the addon or some buggy installation, this is simply how this aircraft is coded ...

Guenter,

As you can read in my post above it works basicaly without any customized module.

I may be wrong but for me it is really something in Howard configuration that prevent the strobe light to work properly.

Hi Guenter, many thanks for your kind help. I have now got it working correctly. Not quite sure what happened, but after I deleted a lot of assignments and reassigned things, everything is working OK. Thanks again.
