August 15, 201213 yr Been busy wiht other stuff for some time plus a HD crash issue. But now back. Windows reinstalled and so is FSX and PMDG 737 NGX. Kind of a new start for me. But fun as h*ll. Did a search but couldn't find any posts on this topic: Is it possible to save a flight in mid air, and restart it at a later time? If I'm on a lengthy flight, and suddenly need to leave for a couple of days, can I just save it and restart from the exact point and settings where I aborted. And if so - how is this done. Is it possible in FSX? In NGX? Or maybe an add on? I do have FSUIPC full version. Other than that no add on's so far. Thx in advance! Peter Vestergren
August 15, 201213 yr I have saved a flight from within the game, just saved it and gave it a name. Then when I restarted the game I used that flight. The only problem is that the NGX takes 15 or so seconds to initialize and you can lose a lot of altitude until it finishes and the engines spool up. :P Jerry Sterner
August 15, 201213 yr Author Thx for the advice. I've done the same, and it seem to work reasonably well.... ;) Peter Vestergren
August 16, 201213 yr I have saved a flight from within the game, just saved it and gave it a name. Then when I restarted the game I used that flight. The only problem is that the NGX takes 15 or so seconds to initialize and you can lose a lot of altitude until it finishes and the engines spool up. :P I never use the save feature, so I'm not sure if this works, but its possible that you can enable slew mode right after loading the NGX, then disable it again when the plane have finished initializing vatsim s3
August 16, 201213 yr Try hitting "y" whilst the plane is initializing. But don't touch anything until the 15 seconds are over, because y gets you in slew-mode and you might move the plane accidently... If you do this very quick the plane doesn't lose altitude at all. However, sometimes I have to reconnect the engine-driven generators in the lower oberhead electrical panel. But that may as well have something to do with the startup-panel state I created. I try to avoid reloading the plane in mid-air, as it is not working every time.
