File Library Tab not Working?

Recommended Posts

I'm finding that the File Library tab at the top of the main and forum pages does nothing for me. The only way I can get to the library is to click on the day's library news on the main page and select one of the new uploads. From then on, I can navigate within the library.

IE8

This is my mistake. Apparently the library and other tabs require selection from the drop-down menu. I got used to not having to make such a selection on the forum tab.

Hi,

I'm running IE9 and none of the drop down menus are operable for me. Nothing happens when I click on the drop down symbols.

In more detail, from the AVSIM forum home page, rolling over the tabs displays the following URL strings in the lower left corner of the IE9 status bar:

AVSIM: http://www.avsim.com/ (working)

Forum: http://forum.avsim.net/ (takes me to the forums, but no menu is displayed)

File Library: http://forum.avsim.net/#-11 (nothing happens; no menu)

Community: http://forum.avsim.net/#-1 (nothing happens; no menu)

Features: http://forum.avsim.net/#-65 (nothing happens; no menu)

Quizzes: http://forum.avsim.net/quiz/ (working)

Store: http://forum.avsim.net/store/ (working)

Help: http://forum.avsim.net/#-17 (nothing happens; no menu)

Contact Us: http://forum.avsim.net/forms (working)

Have I overlooked a required IE9 setting for the menus to work?

I've tested in a couple of browsers and all works ok. I don't know where you are getting these links from: 'http://forum.avsim.net/#-11'; etc... they are not valid.

Link to the library from the drop down menu is: http://library.avsim.net/

for example and works fine. All the Library links from the drop down menu on the forums and main site are working ok.

Update: Google Chrome works great for me, so I can use that for AVSIM !

I think maybe the Invision Power Board (IP.Board) forum software and IE9 don't always play well together.

Thanks for the update.

Yup, the IE browsers have been having difficulties and they don't always render websites properly. Maybe IE10 will fix all that -who knows, but for now you're far better off with GoogleChrome, Firefox or Opera.

Another Update: Suddenly, IE9 started working with the forum software. The AVSIM drop down menus and links are functioning properly!

I'm not sure whether the last Windows Update for Vista "fixed" something, or maybe the forum software was recently updated.

Doesn't matter, though. I can now use IE9 or Chrome!

No changes have been made to the forum software in quite some time. I suspect you are seeing the benefit of an MS update.
