August 18, 201213 yr When I call for gear up, the FO puts the gear up but he continues to say gear up until I give some other command. Also, the same thing happens with flaps 2. Upon approach to landing I get some crazy action with the flaps. I call for flaps 5, the FO acknowledges flaps 5 and then he may call for flaps up or just keep saying flaps 5. Flaps 10 is impossible because when I call for flaps 10 he says flaps 2 or flaps up. Any advice or suggestions? I have gone thru the speech recognition setup several times in an effort to teach but nothing seems to solve. Off topic, can someone tell me where the search feature is in AVSIM forum? thanks

August 19, 201213 yr Off topic, can someone tell me where the search feature is in AVSIM forum? Top right, but click on "Google site search" to limit the search to this topic, forum, etc. Hope that's the answer you're looking for. Stephen Banks
August 20, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Tandy, Thanks. Regarding the repeats, I'm not sure as I haven't had that one reported before. Are you using any external hardware that might also send signals to the gear/flaps? Also, watch the 'Green Bar' to see what the speech recognition system is hearing. Maybe your mic is picking up all sorts of background noise? USB headsets are the best generally. If you're using just a mic, make sure it is far away from your computer speakers. B. August 29, 201213 yr I have the same problems. I use an USB headset with microphone, which is off couse far from the speakers of my PC. It is very annoying and I rather set flaps and gear on approach by hand now. Frans Mulder
August 29, 201213 yr Commercial Member Please email me the CVR log from your last flight... it'll show you what speech commands were heard by the system. The only thing I can think of that would explain this is if the computer somehow heard the command again. Maybe try during the down the volume of your FO or lower your mic sensitivity. I know your mic is far away from your speakers, but all I can guess is that the system is responding to the FO's voice. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 30, 201213 yr Commercial Member In the FS2Crew NGX Config Manager, there's a button called "Cockpit Voice Recorder Log". It'll give you a transcript of everything the speech recognition system hears. So you can see if it's somehow hearing your commands twice. Cheers, B. September 2, 201213 yr The solution (do not laugh!): After my holidays many programs automatically updated to newer versions. So did my logitech webcam with microphone. It installed this microphone as default. So although I thougt I was talking to my headset mike, they were both on. This resulted in the strange behaviour. Now everything is ok and it works fine as before. Frans Mulder
September 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member Glad you got it sorted. I would never have thought of that... Yes, so everyone, be sure to disable your built in microphone on your laptop if you're also using a plug in mic. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
May 6, 201313 yr Excuse me for digging up an old thread, but I'm having this same problem. Apparently mi mike's level is being reset to 100 as soon as I fire up FS2Crew and that make it pick up it's own commands over and over again, especially flaps 10 Does FS2crew do that? Couldn't find anything in the manual. I guess I can manually set it back to 10 or 20 every flight
May 7, 201313 yr Commercial Member FS2Crew doesn't do that.... what OS are you using? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
