While in game, is there a way to pull up a visual list of all the ai traffic in my area?

Sorry, someone else will have to answer that, but there are two free apps that can; Plan-G and FSX2BMAP. Both require internet access since they use scrolling maps. Version 2 of Plan-G uses Google Maps and FSX2BMAP uses Bing.

 

FSX2BMAP is the lighter weight of the two apps and the Bing's map isn't as 'rich' as Google. Plan-G is a flight planner, etc., but I keep getting killed with Internet Explorer slow to respond script errors, so I have a love-hate relationship with it.

If you have the FSX SDK installed, you can use the traffic explorer.
