September 11, 201213 yr 3) How steep the takeoff really is. Almost all the MD-11 flights I do are cargo flights close to MTOW with fuel of about 230-240000 lbs and 150000 lbs of cargo for a 10-12 hour flight. Even then it is an impressive plane. On pax flights of 3-4 hours with about an 80% load factor it climbs so steep and fast it hard to stay up with the plane more less get ahead of it in your mind. It's almost like a fighter.
