September 17, 201213 yr Hi all, My question is if I install a FTX scenery package such as Australia SP4 or NA Pacific Northwest do I need to install a landclass or terrain mesh sofware? And is there any other software that is required for FTX? Thanks in advance, Donair
September 17, 201213 yr No. Although you will quickly discover you can't live without all the Orbx payware (and freeware) add-ons. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

September 17, 201213 yr Now that's funny. It isn't only funny, it's the truth. Supercharge your credit card before buying--and worth every penny IMHO. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

September 18, 201213 yr Well try their HolgerMesh for Australia http://fullterrain.com/freeware.html Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
September 18, 201213 yr Well try their HolgerMesh for Australia http://fullterrain.com/freeware.html Although it is called freeware it almost is a mandatory part of Orbx's AU imho. All other Orbx producs come with their own landclass and mesh and everything, so I would never ever use other landclass and mesh (specially not landclass) because that will screw things up for sure. So in short: FTX comes with everything included and you should only add stuff that's available on the FTX site (like that AU mesh).
September 19, 201213 yr Author Thanks for that J van E. That was the sort of short and succinct answer I was hoping for. Last thing I wanted was to get involved in a discussion on the value or merits of ORBX products. Just to clarify I take it that the AU mesh is a separate product, and if so do you need same for the NA Pacific Northwest product ?

September 19, 201213 yr But to clarify a little, a good aftermarket mesh will definitely make things more interesting and realistic. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
