Has anybody ever use DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - MIAMI CITY 2012 FSX scenery of city of Miami as mentioned on this subject heading?? The screenshot samples look good. Has anybody ever bought this and is completely satisfied with this city scenery?

 

This is NOT TO BE CONFUSED with requesting opinions for KMIA international airport.

 

I am not interested in KMIA airport. I am interested in city scenery of Miami including its shores such as South Beach, South Miami beach, and Bal Harbour as well as downtown Miami. Wondering if DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - MIAMI CITY 2012 FSX does that very well?

Yeah, the Drzewiecki Design scenery is exactly what you're looking for. Very convincing rendering of pretty much the whole city proper, with a photoreal base. It can be decently tough on FPS but I've certainly seen worse. It even has some night lighting, although nothing great (but much better e.g. than Aerosoft's cities series).

Here are some with the lighting. It is different to say the least but I actually find that I like it, and it is not super heavy as UTX would do and has done.

I have the scenery and it's a Love / Hate relationship for me:

 

Love

1. The "daytime" photoscenery is well done and blends in well with the default scenery.

 

2. The major buildings in the modeled area are pretty much all covered. Unbelievable number of custom buildings created for the scenery. (malls, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, etc. Miami Beach looks amazing, along with Key Biscayne, the port of miami, Crandon Park, etc.)

 

3. Scenery includes Miami International airport as well as Opa Locka and Tamiami/Kendall airports.

 

Hate

1. Lack of night lighting on 99% of the addon buildings.

 

2. The night lighting on the photoscenery is horrid. Bright flourescent yellow found throughout. Looks much better when flying at above 10,000 feet, though...

 

3. Tree placement is horrible. You'll find trees in the middle of roads, lakes, and other places where they shouldn't be popping up. This is more noticeable when flying GA at lower altitudes. I wish I could clean this up, as it would make the scenery look much better and probably improve framerate, in the process.

 

4. The large number of autgen buildings, especially in the downtown Miami and the entire Miami Beach coastline, tend to pop-up like dominos in reverse. That can get a little annoying. But it's acceptable, considering the vast number of autogen buildings being depicted.

 

In my opinion, the scenery looks amazing (especially during the day) and it only makes it more frustrating knowing if the developers had taken some additional time to improve the night lighting features, along with the tree auto-gen placement, this would be, in my opinion, one of the top 3 sceneries released for FSX.
