September 17, 201213 yr Hi, does someone if there is a update for GCLA apron available? They have enlarged the apron and added TWY C. As this is a nice and know scenery there is may something what I didn't found. Using the FS2004 Thanks mates. Greetings Eddi
September 17, 201213 yr The Project Canarias scenery is outstanding (freeware/shareware) but there's really only one good airport that comes with it - GCLA. Some good enhancements to the other airports in this package would make an excellent package even better. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I don't have any suggestions for clocki's original question but the whole package would be a great candidate for some addons Ian
September 17, 201213 yr Good evening, I can only suggest a "second best" solution: I use Toni Agramonts Canary Islands scenery addon in addition to Canarias 2006, so that I have the airports with some buildings and a basic layout; therefore I have deactivated these tiny villages all around the islands (90% of them are easily to recognize by their file name beginning with GC for Gran Canaria, GO for La Gomera, HI for Hierro, LP for La Palma, TE for Teneriffa; I knew some village names without this naming from a RW visit there), the mesh, the main islands scenery files (CANA*.bgl and TENE*.bgl) and the airports GCLA and GCLB. With AI traffic and FSHotSFX it is possible to land there in an airport environment. Of course one has to make compromises in matching RW airport layout, scenery design and some technical aspects, as for instance I found no way to remove some static planes. Finally I had to add an afcad file; I found one (made 2006, but I don't remember the author) that works quite well with Toni's airport. ... Perhaps this is a opportunity to thank Toni Agramont for his huge work he did for flightsimmers world ... I think that adding Fuerteventura and Lanzarote islands to Canarias 2006 would be much more important than to update GCLA airport, wouldn't it? I tried Toni's scenery additions a year or so ago but it didn't work for me. Now I have you information, I'll give it another try! I believe there is an old SimFlyers scenery that adds airports to the islands but they are pretty old and am not sure how well they fit the Project Canarias scenery. Anybody have any info?
September 17, 201213 yr Good luck, Ian, with trying it. But I have to add one aspect: I was warned about using the installer of Canarias 2006, so after some days of testing I found a way to use Canarias 2006 without it (installing, noting the changes, copying the files, building up the folder structure, editing scenery.cfg, duplicating the texture files excepted the winter files for all seasons...). Maybe this is important to get Toni's scenery to work with Canarias 2006. Both sceneries together look like this: Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
