September 21, 201213 yr Just a quick question fellow NGXers, I've noticed that there is a 5 degree plus variation between the heading indicated on the HGS as compared to the Nav Display heading. Can anyone clarify please? ie: How to rectify this? Please refer to attached snapshot. September 21, 201213 yr The DU (nav display) is the airplanes TRACK, not Heading, the little upside down Triangle on the Nav Display is your heading. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
September 21, 201213 yr You have 25kts cross wind coming almost directly from your right, so the 7 degrees is not a surprise. As Ron said, the TRACK on the ND shows your path on the ground, but the plane is "looking" (aka heading) to its right to compensate. Actually the circle near the speed scale of the HGS shows where your plane is actually going, which is very useful during landing with high winds! George Golas ---------------------- I hate gravity!
