February 6, 20179 yr Hi guys, The exterior control panel is located on the fuselage roughly underneath the L1 door and slightly to the right. It has two switches, AIRSTAIRS - RETRACT/EXTEND and POWER - STANDBY/NORMAL) It can be extended/retracted when the aircraft is fully shutdown using DC power POWER - STANDBY from the battery bus (which is why it doesn't require the battery to be on) or using AC power POWER - NORMAL if the aircraft is powered up. (using DC power the retraction/extension is about x5 slower which is wonderful when it's absolutely chucking it down!!.) The interior control panel is on the forward attendant panel above where the cabin crew sit at the front is similar except the L1 door must be open for it do extend/retract. By open in reality the door isn't fully open during retraction/extension, just enough for whoever is operating the panel to observe the retraction or extension. The handrails extend to be connected to the door and if they're not locked in place to the airstairs during retraction it will damage the stairs. Hope this helped!

February 7, 20179 yr Hey! I don't see no exterior control panel at all in my FS9 Versions of PMDG B737NG. So my question is: does that what you explain above apply only for the FSX versions? Or should I look better to find on my FS9 version an exterior control panel? Jive1 - Belgium
