September 27, 201213 yr 2x4GB is plenty for most people's needs. If all you do is flight sim, you're better off with 8GB of fast RAM than 16GB of comparitively slower RAM as FS simply isn't going to use that much RAM.
September 27, 201213 yr Author Thanx guys. I enjoy making fsx videos so use video editing and music arrangement software. Is that valid reason for more ram and win. 7 pro. Filling 2 or 4 memory slots is more of a wallet issue than proformance thing, if total amount of memory same? If install 2400 proformance ram do i have to tweak bio's to get that speed? http://youtu.be/vaq1SnROBbs
September 27, 201213 yr It really shouldn't be an issue, but you could find out by monitoring your RAM usage during that task to see if all your RAM is used up, if it is, then go ahead and get more RAM.
September 28, 201213 yr If install 2400 proformance ram do i have to tweak bio's to get that speed? No. - All you will need to do is select XMP profile for your memory and you are set!
September 28, 201213 yr thanx guys will go with the 2x4gb 2400mhz ripjaws. Great choice! Glad I could help!
September 30, 201213 yr No. - All you will need to do is select XMP profile for your memory and you are set! Ben -Just 'catching-up- on OP question to ask..... Does this work with i2700K? (I have one seating in its sealed box ened to buy the rest of components). I thought the limit was 1333 MHZ. To go above 1333, does it require MOBO and RAM combination to support XMP profile? ASUS P8Z77-V LE supports (XMP) θπτο 2400. Should I buy XMP Equiped memory ? Thanks for the answer. Sam Sam. Waiting for the 64-bit PSION Flightsim for ZX-Spectrum ////
September 30, 201213 yr You can always overclock, but if you want it to work "right out of the box" XMP is your best bet.
October 1, 201213 yr If iam not wrong , xmp for 2700k is 2133 but no problem to overclock if the mem controller is good. If a not remember wrong a run my 2800 mems at 2255mhz with tight timings with the 2700k Hasse http://
