July 4, 200421 yr I have a real problem: I start ActiveSky and then run FS in full window mode. At times, I toggle to non-full mode, which is no problem. BUT then, when going back to full window mode, the mouse starts to flicker on the screen and the picture freezes!!Anyone has experienced the same issue? What can I do about that?
July 4, 200421 yr To begin with, and assuming you normally run in full screen mode, there is no need to toggle to window mode if you are doing that only as a means to refer to the Active Sky program or any other running program. Use Alt-Tab instead when you want to clear FS temporarily from the screen, and also the same keys to bring it back. On the other hand you are probably tight on system resources. You might need to reduce some setting(s) somewhere. But the Alt-Tab combination saves a lot of hassle and you might be able to use the sim normally without having to do anything else.
July 5, 200421 yr Author OK, but when I do that, FS goes out of full-screen mode, and when going back to FS (=in full screen) I have that problem.System constraints: I am not a computer expert, but what is funny is that I have no problem running and toggling between FS and several MS Office products (they are really heavy on the system), but the problem occurs only when I run ActiveSky, even if it's only FS and ActiveSky running. WOuldn't that indicate that AS is the problem? I did a re-install of AS, but the problem persists.
July 5, 200421 yr I've always had this problem but I get round it by using CTRL-ALT-DELETE from full screen which minimises FS2004 to the task bar and then I can restore it full screen without ever going into windowed mode.John
July 5, 200421 yr I use the "Windows" key; look just outboard of the "Alt" keys. That works for me using WinXP Home. R-

July 5, 200421 yr Author Hi Jim,"video card and driver combination" - help me, I am not at all a computer specialist... how can I find that? I run FS on a laptopCheersChris
July 5, 200421 yr Hi Chris,This has been a problem with nVidia cards and FS9 from the beginning. I use this combo also. But have found a very easy way around it.First I start FS and in "windowed" mode. Second I start AS, and Radar Contact. Then I go to full screen mode. With this procedure you can toggle back and forth from "windowed to full screen" without the mouse going nuts. The problem is somewhere in driver, that nVidia has not solved so far.The key is starting FS9 in windowed mode FIRST, starting in Full Screen will always produce this unwanted affect if you toggle. As the other guys have said he can go key combo's to minimize but I don't use them, so I am stuck with the work around.Hope this helpsBob Johnson

July 6, 200421 yr Author Jim,thanks for that. I have the information, and it turned out to be quite revealing in quite a different way as well: my notebook was sold with "up to 128 MB video card" - and the guy in the store assured me that it was 128 MB pre-configured. Now I see it is only 64MB!!! Any idea what I can do to bring it up to the 128MB?Also, the information in the box is the following, entries from top to bottom for the card:Radeon IGP 345MATITechnChip RS200M AGP (0x4337)Internal DAC (350 MHz)64MB1024*768 (32 bit) 60HzSony Notebook LCD (1024*768)For the driver:ati2vag.dll6.14.0010.6392 (English)02.09.2003 21:47:00Yesati2mtag.sysNo9 (or higher)I haven't got a clue what any of this means, but maybe here lies the key to solving my problem? Thanks for your assistanceChris
