October 17, 201213 yr Hi I use AS2012 on a networked client computer via simconnect, how does FSX get the AS2012 'cloud' graphics ? Do I have to install another copy AS2012 on the FSX computer to get any high res cloud graphics. Thanks, Glen Glen
October 17, 201213 yr Moderator No - when you run AS2012 and install the theme, the complete set is installed into FSX. Then as you fly, AS2012 tells FSX which individual sets to display as you go. Nothing else needs to be done unless you decide on a new theme to use - then you must shut down FSX, install the theme using AS2012 and then proceed. October 18, 201213 yr Another option Glen is to use the 'Snapshot' feature and auto-generate snapshots based on weather. These snapshots are stored on the FSX PC and are installed the same way but choosing the 'install snapshot option' once the flightplan is processed. This transfers the chosen textures within fsx a lot faster than sending the them over the lan each time.

IIRC Stephen the snapshots are stored on the AS2012 computer. there is still a time saving thought because the snapshots are already "compiled" so you don't have to wait for processing but the data still has to be copied over. I'm going from memory on this so you may be correct that the snapshots can be saved on the flight system but I don't think so. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
October 18, 201213 yr Snapshot folder is created within the main FSX folder, hence the faster transfer.
