October 17, 201213 yr While preparing for landing at KSFO today, FSX stopped and a message showed up telling me "Your FSX Trial time has ended. To continue flying put in your Acceleration Activation key. " First I had to remember where I put my DVD box which I finally found it. Gosh! it has been several years since I installed Acceleration and when you get my age you forget things. Anyway I put the Key in and I think all is well again. I was thinking if I couldn't find the Activation key. I could be in big trouble. Just wondering if anyone else has had this to happen Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
October 18, 201213 yr I have, Carl. Over a year ago, I reached the maximum number of activations when I reinstalled FSX to this new machine. I had to call a 1-800 number and answer a few questions, and then use a key given to me via phone. Only after 5 minutes of that, could I enter the key and start flying! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
October 18, 201213 yr As long as Microsoft lives they should help you with activation issues... That doesn't mean help involving activating Windows 95. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

Zach I understand MSFT would probably only allow a certain number of activiations but I have had acceleraton installed on this computer for about two years without any reactivation and it just showed up for no real reason. Anyway it was a surprise but all is ok. Thanks for your input. October 18, 201213 yr it just showed up for no real reason. Check your disk space, a common reason for windows apps 'forgetting' things randomly, like this, is that you've run out of disk space, and the registry gets locked temporarily while windows tries to reclaim some space. It could mean that you're right on the edge of having no free space, and you should clean up some stuff you don't use.
October 18, 201213 yr Author NikkiA, Thanks for your suggestion. I do have plenty of disk space. A little over 450 GB free space. October 18, 201213 yr Carl, I once saw this and did just what you did. Never saw it again. Not sure but perhaps it lost its registry link. When it wants give it.
