FSUIPC Could Not be Found - KaKars

Featured Replies

Hi

After a four month spell away and no Flt Sim I have recently tried to connect KaKARS to my FSX which is up and running. Alas two error messages: fsuipc not found on this computer or error sending message to FSUIPC. FSUIPC is certainly in program files but I can't tell if it is running. It worked when I went away but fails every time now.

I have made sure that FSX is set to "run as administrator" but having right clicked on the KAKars icon I can't locate the "run as administrator command". KAKars forum states that when running with Vista both programs should be set as administrator.

Any of you computor wizzes got any ideas. Be gentle on me as its a brave new world to me.

Quote: "FSUIPC is certainly in program files" not quite sure what you mean by this...

When FSX is running, can you access FSUIPC from the FSX task bar at the top,

under "Add-ons"? (Push ALT to bring up the task bar, if required)

Thanks for your speedy reply. When I say FSUIPC is on my system it is found under Program files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flt Sim X/Modules.

FSUIPC is on my FSX task bar and on selecting it I see a Options & Settings box

In the FSX\Modules folder where FSUIPC resides, FSUIPC generates a fsuipc.log which should record everything that happened. You should double-click on this log file and then copy and paste the contents here. That info would be helpful. Did you install FSUIPC4.dll using the fsuipc4 installer. The program may not be registered in your registry and therefore your program cannot find it. I would download the program again and install it with Admin rights.

Best regards,

Jim

Sorry for the delay but I am copying from one PC to another

Download and install the latest version of FSUIPC4, Version 4.853 - http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.

Did you try to connect to KaKARS, get the error that FSUIPC could not be found and then opened and copied the fsuipc.log?

Did you see this link from the developer on how to troubleshoot problems with KaKars? http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/5782-before-asking-a-question-of-kacars/. He states KaKars uses Microsoft.net 3.5 so you need to be sure this is installed in Vista (Vista does not automatically install any Microsoft.net framework). You need to look into C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\Framework\(then look for version 3.5). If you do not see it then you will have to install it. Click on Progams and Features>TurnWindows features on or off. Look down the list and make sure Microsoft.net 3.5 is checked, click okay and the program will be installed. Run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest of dotnet 3.5.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jim

Good morning Jim

I have checked on Microsoft net and my computer indicates a Ver 3.5 & v4.0,30319. I have not been able to follow it through to locate Programs and Features hence I have not been able to turn the feature On or Off.

I would point out that until my trip away all was working well and it was only on my return that my KaKARS/ FSUIP/Flt Sim issues arose so at some time all has been set correctly and I was a happy simmer.

Thanks again

Paul

Did you install the latest version of FSUIPC as I suggested? Did you check out the link to the developer that provides troubleshooting suggestions that I provided? Evidently not too many people use KaKARS so this is why there are not too many people here trying to help you. I do not own this product and have absolutely no idea how to run it or what the proper settings should be. Your best best is to follow the link I provided to the developer and/or go on the KaKars forum and request assistance there. I'm sorry I cannot be of more assistance. Hopefully someone who is knowledgeable of this program can come on and help.

Best regards,

Jim
