SPIM Lima, Peru not recognized in RC4

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there someone with the same problem of mine - RC4 does not recognize my default SPIM, the Lima (Peru) International. Even building the plan in FSX planner, RC4 does not seems to know SPIM

Thanks in advance.

In FS9 SPIM default is in the RC database.

First let us see if it made it into RC. Go to the RCv4x\data folder. Open a4.csv by right clicking on it and opening it in Word. Search for SPIM. It should be similar to my FS9 version of coordinates:

SPIM, ,-12.02188 ,-77.11432 ,-1 , 112 , 11548 (calculated airport center from runways).

It is also in the fixed database files not pulled from your scenery.

What kind of error are you getting? Are you talking about audio where it does not pronounce the airport name? Have you updated makerwys.exe from http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/, installed it, and run the scenery rebuild from within RC?

You might have some kind of add-on installed that excludes SPIM. First see if it is in a4.csv. Then we'll go from there.

Ronzie,

Thanks for replying. The error is that neither the ICAO of Lima Airport is appearing in the RC4 Flight Plan nor is mentioned by the controllers (only silence) - but the destination is full pronounced (Chiclayo).

The RC4 window shows the SPIM-SPHI plan starting from the SID:

TIMOR1 BTE UV1 TRU SPHI

I made another plan with SPIM at destination with the same result. The only addon for the region is FSGlobal (Terrain).

I will verify the RCv4x\data folder and also makerwys.exe.

SPIM SLS4A SLS UV1 TRU SPHI was auto generated by FS Build 2.4. SLS4A did not expand into discrete waypoints.

In FS9 format the plan looks like this (I used the FSB recommended SID SLS4A) since I don't have charts.

[flightplan]

title=SPIM to SPHI

description=SPIM, SPHI

type=IFR

routetype=3

cruising_altitude=26000

departure_id=SPIM, S12* 01.18', W077* 06.51',+000112.00

departure_position=15

destination_id=SPHI, S06* 47.14', W079* 49.41',+000097.00

departure_name=LIMA

destination_name=CHICLAYO-J_A_GONZALES

waypoint.0=SPIM, A, S12* 01.18', W077* 06.51', +000000.00,

waypoint.1=SLS, V, S11* 17.15', W077* 33.45', +000000.00, UV1

waypoint.2=BTE, V, S09* 08.51', W078* 31.19', +000000.00, UV1

waypoint.3=TRU, V, S08* 05.13', W079* 06.43', +000000.00,

waypoint.4=SPHI, A, S06* 47.14', W079* 49.41', +000000.00,

If RC is showing TIMOR1 and UV1 in its flight plan window that is incorrect. It only accepts individual waypoints that should be expanded from your SID and airway (between designated waypoints)

The main screen should look like this:

and the controller screen should look like this:

The name for the LIMA airport would be phonetically pronounced as I did not see any script file for it referring to a wav file.

Hi,

In my FSX,both airports are in the files which Ronzie quotes.

Using FS build,the same route appears and can be loaded into the FMC of an aircraft as well as RC4 with the airport names appearing within the RC route box.

After downloading the new MakeRwys 4.6.1.2 and running RC4 DB rebuild, SPIM is back to my plans. Thanks for your kind attention and clarifications.
