Hi David,>They just tell me my VISA card won't clear and when I call the phone number on the card I'm told that neither SimMarket nor any one else even processed the card. Go figure.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg

Hi GostaThanks for the reply. Interesting concept, kind of like blocking a problematic internet domain I guess. My bank was just bought by another bank so the problem may have solved itself.ThanksDavid

Hi David,I hope it will be OK. The funniest thing I experienced with blocked credit card numbers was in Cuba a few years ago. Because of the US embargo, Cubans won't accept American credit cards (not surprising, considering it would be an offence under US law for an American bank to transfer funds to Cuba). Non-US cards are OK, though, but the procedure is something else: Electronic swipe terminals were unheard of, so they used those old 'sliders' that took an imprint of your card. Then they would take the slip and compare it to a list of approved numbers. The nubers were listed by country and that's where the wackiness began - I'm from London, but my bank was based in Edinburgh. Now to Cubans the whole of the UK is the same as England, but in their list, England and Scotland are listed separately (different legal systems, so it makes sense). Of course, the guy only looks under 'England', doesn't find the card number, and refuses to accept it. I try to tell him to look under 'Scotland', but he was having none of that, he kept pointing at my passport and kept saying 'It's England'. After about an hour of debate and various fruitless attempts at explaining that Scotland was also part of the UK, he finally agreed to look up 'Scotland' just to get rid of me. Lo and behold, the card number was listed as approved. All fine and dandy until the next day (the Cubans imposed a daily withdrawal limit), when exactly the same thing happened again - same hotel, same guy, same pointless debate - I thought I was in 'Groundhog Day'...The charges didn't show up on my credit card until about three months later, as the Cubans send all the slips to Mexico for processing...Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg

> Looks to me like the score is now Volker 1, Keith 0. But>if the free update happens I guess we can call it a tie :-) .>>DougPayPal screw but I am a man of my word so I guess you can call it a tie. :)Sending that new version via email Volker. It's 1.2 mb. Can you handle that?

Just to correct the main topic of this post. Thisis NOT an "update" it is a release of a NEW VERSION. We are allowing users to "upgrade" TO this NEW VERSION at a discounted price. the NEW VERSION is not just the additions of the GMS340 and GTX330 but also new VERSIONS of the 430 and 530. An update would be a fix of bugs etc. This is not an update. That SHOULD clear this up once and for all. Regards,Keith

Keith, maybe you understand that I'm not too happy with what you wrote before. And I insist that I don't like your update policy - but when I look at the messages in this thread, it seems that I'm indeed the only one who has a problem with this policy. If you want to, you can send me the update via email, the size is not the problem. I guess that's a solution that everybody could live with. I already spent far too much time tonight checking the new messages in this thread instead of working on my diploma thesis.VOlker :]

Well, I am ready to put this bed as well. I have much better things to do myself. You have every right to voice your opinion.Your free upgrade is on it's way in just a few minutes. I am sorry you didn't like the last version. The old saying says "you can't please all of the peole all of the time" is a very true one. Hope you like Version 4 and if not I still wish you well. Good luck on the thesis and take care. :)Regards,Keith

Hi GostaThanks for the laugh! If I ever go to Cuba I'll make sure to bring real money; that usually works. Although in the U.S. some hotels will only take credit cards, not cash. Guess they want your CC number in case you trash the place. David
