CH-47 GPS has no power, COMMS will not change

Featured Replies

Last weekend I purchased the Nemeth/MILVIZ Ch-47. When the aircraft loads in free flight the GPS has no power and I can not change the freq on the Comms nav or radio stack for that matter. So I thought corrupt file so I downloaded it again. No change!!! So I thought I'll learn the full shutdown and startup. No change!!! All warning light are off after startup engines are running no power the GPS(shift1) no Comms. MILVIZ support team please help me find a solution. I love this thing but I can't show her off in the live ATC session with no COMMS.

Order number: 928081 do you need the site of purchased or the file let me know.

Thanks guys

I don't have the product myself, but did you switch on the master battery and alternator/generator switches?

I Know the BAT and Gen1,2 are on. And all my warning light are out after i do the startup procedure. I even went to the length of shutdown by the manual then startup. Still cant get GPS to get power or COMMS. I can switch aircraft and come back to CH-47 and everything is powered. I dont know if its me or if its the program (like a currupt file download).

I'm not sure what's going on but... I have to ask... where did you buy it from?

I've asked the nemeths about this.

However, I've not been getting good results from them lately so... I do not expect much. Not sure what to do exactly but I may stop selling it... (and all the others as well....)

I purchased it from Sim Market. I contacted aussiecop threw the nemeth support forum. They replied pretty promptly. They told me to contact you guys for suppor on this productt. Ill take all the advice I can get to try to fix it. It just sucks I spent $40 on something's I can't fully enjoy in multiplayer. And I'm at that point where I need a new aircraft to focus on for the next few months and enjoy. I was like a kid with a new toy when I got the CH. I printed the manual and started studying. Like I said any suggestions you have will be great. Thanks for the reply. Look forward to hearing from you again.

Thing is... see, we support the product by contact them and asking THEM to help us help you... So this is just not cool.

Can you explain in more detail WHY you cannot change the Frequency.

(1) Is it you cannot see the Freq Display ?

or

(2) You see the display but cannot change it's display values.

or

(3) You can change the displayed values, but do not seem to be receiving on that specified frequency.

or

(4) You can receive, but not transmit ?

and

(5) Is your windows set to English/USA, or another Language ??

Could be a numeric format issue 118.75 vs 118,75 etc etc

If you want to see what is actually happening, you can find out for yourself on the FS-MP MP server.

( a ) Join the FS-MP MP server , (see gamespy listing) -- Spawn at a GATE.

( b ) View the FS-MP server status page on http://fs-mp.com/status

You will see your aircraft listed there, along with the Frequencies that your TX'ing radio is set to, and the freq of your receive only radio (if it is on).

If you tune to 136.00, you should see it tune, and hear a 300Hz Test Tone on that 136.00 freq (even if Q has been pressed to turn off sound)

If you sort out your receiving, you can then try tuning to a freq where you see other players, and call for a radio check.

A /T in the chat box, will list the last 10 players who transmitted. After you transmit, are you listed there ?

=========

My experience with Nemith Design, is that many of their aircraft/choppers, do not implement the COM1/COM2 radios and audio selection panel correctly, especially when you want to select which radio you want to transmit on.

If you find that the Plane's VC Radios (or even their 2D radios) are not responding, its probably an incorrectly coded Radio panel, or audio panel.

If you cannot get it sorted, a work around is to add say the C172 Radio Panel as another 2D pop-up window to the Nemith aircraft, and use that.

Good luck getting it sorted,

You cannot BEAT Nemith tech support and their "COP" an attitude "-The beatings will continue until morale improves" !!! (sigh)

Out of curiosity, I went to the MilViz website to check out the CH-47.

Clicked on the BUY Now logo, and downloaded the zip.

On expanding the Zip, and attempting to open the .exe, I was welcomed with an AVG Antivirus warning

MV_CH-47D.exe - Trogan horse Dropper.Generic3.CGBK

Did not expect that !!! ( or did I ? )

When I enter into the free flight my GPS(shift1) is blank like no power. But my radio stack and Radio have power and display at default COMM 1 128.25 but I can not change the value or contact tower/ground or ATIS with hotkeys. I can although change aircraft from hidden menu and come back to CH and everything is on. I have acceleration and V1.1CH-47. My display is also in English not another language. Thanks for the the reply guys. I really want to figure this one out.

As I said to you in my PM... the file contains NO virus. It is the DRM that causes this false positive. This is a well known and documented phenomena...

If im telling you something you already know, Im sorry.

The centre panel, you will find the following MFD as displayed in the attached pic

  1. the red box with the "function keys" selects the desired input
  2. the yellow box switches bewteen the active and standby freq
  3. and the green box, is the tuning dial

to be honest a short cut around all of this radio tunning procedure is to add the Bell 206 as a panel pop window

As this was a joint Milviz and ND project, Milviz didnt install the gauges in this, for ND to be very quick to pass you on to us regarding gauge problems is somewhat confusing considering they made them. And to be honest I dont think we will hear back from the gauge developers, so please bear with us while we try and work things out for you

If you want, I can send you a copy of my custom panel folder with the extra pop windows

The MFD and the COMM 1 in the lower center console is functional after i reset the aircraft from the hidden menu in free flight. This also applies to the GPS, everything is functional after i reset the aircraft from the hidden menu in free flight. Although i did start a Multiplayer session lastnight and the Gps and COMMS worked when i entered in my session. Its been the only time that the GPS had power when loaded initially. ANd when the GPS is on the COMMS work, I can change the freq on the MFD and the COMM 1 in the lower center console. In the past i have spent money with Nemeth, CH-53, MD500, EC135, BO105 and the CH-47. A total of 5 aircraft thats $200 bucks. I honestly do not feel i should have to change their product. It works for other peaple, just not me for some reason. At this point Ill just wait for some support. I know im just $200 bucks to these guys and thats nothing to them really. But if i cant get support for this product i will never buy another Nemeth product again in the future. I hate to say that because i have so much fun with the virtual cockpits and they were the first aircraft i purchused that wasnt a Ctrl-E startup aircraft so i fell in love with the VC. But like i said if I cant get support, i will not buy another aircraft from them. By the way this is the first aircraft from them i could not get to work.
