AMD back in gaming

Featured Replies

Hi guys has anyone tired the New AMD CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz ? Think this will beat Intel's 2700K

-- Please I mean realistic answers; not just Intel or AMD fans

The 8350 performs worse than the 2700K....Even when the 2700K is at 3.5GHZ and the 8350 is at 4GHZ.

AMD still haven't improved their IPC anywhere near enough to be worthy for FSX users.

Those are some utterly terrible results for 8350 in gaming on Anandtech... yet another comparison to tell people to stay away from AMD when it comes to FSX.

I´ve looked at quite a few CPU tests over the years now, and as FSX is no longer used in benchmarks, Cinebench singlecore performance appears to be a good relative measure when comparing one CPU against another. Despite SP2, FSX is still pretty much bound to the performance of one core.

Whereas Ivy Bridge now goes up to around 7000 in Cinebench Single Core 10 render test, this latest AMD CPU is only just above 4000 - the same as my Phenom II X6 1100T!!

I.e. around 70% better performance of Intel relative to AMD should be expected in MSFS.

Best Regards,

Anders

Wow, and to think AMD was the way to go a few years ago for gaming. I don't understand why they don't fix what they it needs to, to match or beat Intel on this-- So Strange !
