October 24, 201213 yr Extract of change log 26th June. 10. Fixed prop texture to make rear of blades flat black.updated diffuse, specular and bump maps Does that mean the prop texture as seen from the cockpit when props are stationary? If so, then I have a separate question. Is there an updated spinning prop texture? Because the one I have shows two white tip stripes, when actually nothing should show. Looks so wrong! I promise to shut up after this one. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
October 24, 201213 yr Moderator Unfortunately, no. It would require a remapping of the rear-facing propdisc, and a recompile of the interior and exterior models. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 24, 201213 yr Author It can't be that hard, I've hacked the C310.propdisk.dds file so that it's not so obvious. It's a shame that a product that boasts photoreal interiors and I quote from the blurb: The Beech Baron 55 model depicted in this package is a highly detailed replica of its real-life counterpart. The model was created by using high quality digital photos and B-55 plans. should be content to let a fundamental mistake like that, ride. Hey ho. It's still a nice plane. October 24, 201213 yr Doesn't that all have to do with lighting conditions anyway? Two videos of startup, takeoff , and cruise in the rw bird.. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 24, 201213 yr Author Very nice, but what point are you making Geofa? The point I'm making is that there are no white stripes on the rear of the prop tips but they do show in the sim. As for the black prop rotations, I'm thinking that the eye doesn't register them but the camera does. Not something to fall out over but it has to be said, that most developers have the prop animations nailed. The World is divided into two groups. October 24, 201213 yr Nope-you can see the props depending on the lighting conditions as the videos show. Understand about the stripes on the back... I wish the mirror on the left engine would show the nose gear coming down but I guess there are some limits and compromises to 100% reality and what FSX can do. October 24, 201213 yr Moderator It can't be that hard... There is one -and only one- propdisk.dds bitmap. The front and back of the _slow and _blurred propdisk mesh objects use this bitmap. That is precisely why I wrote that it would require changing the back of each propdisk mesh object, then a new compile of both the exterior and the interior model. Although I did not create the actual model itself, I was responsible for rigging all of the animations, as well as the actual exporting and compiling of the final models, so I speak with a high degree of confidence that I do know precisely of which I am speaking... None of us are perfect Ron. The fact that none of the dozen or so beta testers nor any of us on the development team ever noticed this issue only goes to prove that statement! Of the many folks who've bought the B55 package, you are the first (and only) one to even mention this issue. Fr. October 24, 201213 yr Author I'm amazed, that in a hobby that is jam packed with people that have the potential to get upset by a misplaced rivet, no-one has noticed the white stripes. Like I said in my OP 10. Fixed prop texture to make rear of blades flat black.updated diffuse, specular and bump maps yet no such fix for the disk. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
October 25, 201213 yr Moderator That was referring to the prop0_still and prop1_still individual blades, not the prop0_slow/_blurred and prop1_slow/_blurred "disks..." ^_^ Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
