October 25, 201213 yr As a mostly real-time, real-wx simmer, with the advent of shorter days I'm flying more flights that span through twilight hours and as a consequence far fewer flights in the Baron - normally one of my favorite planes. The Baron's panel vis is great in the day, and quite nice once it's fully dark as well, but through twilight... the instrument lights seem to have no affect near sunset and during twilight they actually seem to darken the instrument faces before finally starting to light things up as it becomes fully dark out. Any way around this that I'm missing? Thanks, Scott

October 29, 201213 yr Author Anybody? Anything? :-) The Baron is moving slowly to the back of the hangar pending repairs or a seasonal change. I've been telling everyone it's down for annual and waiting on some parts - it makes it feel just like when I used to own. :( Scott
October 29, 201213 yr Hello Scott , sorry to report that its " normal " for FSX to render the combined textures that define the vc dawn dusk lighting in such a way i find it actually gets darker when you put the lights on . The only solution i found was to fly with the sundown at my back to take advantage of another FSX glitch in the specular lighting , I realize this isnt any help 3/4 of the time but its all the help i can offer in this case unhappily.

The thing is, the doggone VC feels so real that I even tried grabbing a maglite the other day to help. Didn't work. Go figure. Why is the wind always on the nose and the sun always in your face? :-) Thanks, Chuck. I was afraid that was the answer. Scott
