Frustrating CTDs!

Featured Replies

I'm frustrated. I'm experiencing more than usual crashing while trying to perform flights with the ngx lately. It started 3 weeks ago, without warning it would suddenly crash to desktop in the middle of a flight. But tonight it has crashed 4 times before I even got off the ground! It happens when I go into the EZDOK or FSUIPC menu or hit the (;) key to try and save progress. Not sure what is causing this.

This may be of no help but a friend of mine had something similar happen & he resolved it just by ticking the DX10 preview in FSX. I'm no expert but thought it might be worth a try whilst you wait for more knowledgeable members to help.

MENU CRASHES AND FIX AKA UIAUTOMATIONCORE.DLL-FIX

There is a know bug in originally installed FSX, when you click into menus a lot, or click around the cockpit, or right click, that FSX is going to freeze and/or crash.

The problem is known to get fixed by saving a Vista UIAutomationcore.dll file into FSX folder. Just by placing it there, FSX seems to use that file and not crash FSX any more by those clicks.

Hi Rendi, I applied the UIAutomationcore.dll tweak many months ago and it resolved the CDTs due to using the FSX menu. Unfortunately this problem is only an issue with the ngx.

Mike, I'll try dx10 preview and see if that works. Thanks.
