October 27, 201213 yr I can't seem to figure out how to assign all 3 throttles to my 2 throttle joystick. I always ends up with only controlling 2 of the throttles, and the third one doesn't move. Can somebody help me with this? Thanks, Chris
October 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi, You can't do this in FS directly. Pressing "E, 1" for example will select only engine 1, "E, 1, 3" will select 1 and 3 only, etc... - this is how I do it and it works great with the MD-11. Press "E, 1, 2, 3" to select all engines. Best regards, Robin.
October 28, 201213 yr Author Thanks for that. Is there a way to do it FSUIPC? Or are there settings within the MD-11 itself that will allow me to assign all 3 throttles to 2 throttles on the joystick? Chris
October 28, 201213 yr Thanks for that. Is there a way to do it FSUIPC? Or are there settings within the MD-11 itself that will allow me to assign all 3 throttles to 2 throttles on the joystick? Chris Yes, if you have the registered version of FSUIPC, you can program two throttles to one lever and the third to the other. Also if you have the 747 or the QW Avro, you can program two to each lever. Robert Yunque
October 28, 201213 yr Author I do have the registered version of FSUIPC. How, exactly, do I do that? I am excited that there is a solution out there! Chris
October 28, 201213 yr Can you assign engines 1 and 3 to one throttle, and 2 to the other? Apart from startup and shutdown, whcih you can do through the VC, do you ever have a need to independently control the throttles? If not, would you consider one control for the throttles (all three of them) and the other for the reversers, or the flaps, or the gear etc.? Paul Smith.
October 29, 201213 yr Commercial Member Can you assign engines 1 and 3 to one throttle, and 2 to the other? As above - with FSUIPC, you can. ... do you ever have a need to independently control the throttles? Yes, during two engine taxi (delayed start on #2). Best regards, Robin.
October 30, 201213 yr As above - with FSUIPC, you can. Yes, during two engine taxi (delayed start on #2). Best regards, Robin. Why is it a problem that engine 2 throttle lever moves while taxiing?
November 4, 201213 yr Commercial Member You mean when the engine is shutdown? Need the systems schematics to see if it is a problem on this aircraft. I just know that I have seen it many times on different aircraft, that when taxiing aircraft with an engine shutdown, only the operating engine(s) thrust levers are moved, so in the case of the MD-11, you'd hold your hand so that you only operated #1 and #3. Might be a throw-back to the day when the thrust lever was directly connected to the fuel valve of the engine. Best regards, Robin.
