Airport not in database

Featured Replies

I've been trying some high-altitude takeoffs lately, and so I downloaded a freeware scenery package for ZUBD in China, which is not in the default FSX database. However, I wasn't able to plan a flight from there using the NGX, because it's not in its Nav Database either. Is there anyway I can insert it into the Navigation Database for the NGX? Would getting the latest Navigraph cycle work?

Thanks,

Would it be possible to manually add it to the NavData files?

Create the airport, install it and it will be there

Yes it is, if you have the lat/lon coordinates for the airport center point, and runway data (latlon, lenght, altitude, mag crse, etc). The airport.dat text file is a list of airport ICAO and lat/lon airport center point (e.g., KCRP 27.770361 -97.501222 is my home airport at Corpus Christi). The other file you need to add lines to is the wpNavAPT.txt file, which is a list of runways where each runway is a separate entry. The position of the information is important so use spaces for white space and not tabs:

CORPUS CHRISTI INTL KCRP13 07508129 27.777000 -97.513389110.3012900043
CORPUS CHRISTI INTL KCRP17 06080172 27.779647 -97.496322000.0017200041
CORPUS CHRISTI INTL KCRP31 07508309 27.762192 -97.497208110.3030900040
CORPUS CHRISTI INTL KCRP35 06080352 27.762928 -97.496031109.5035200039

The above code box show the entries for the four (each runway end has an entry) runways at Corpus Christi. The information includes length (7508 or 6080 ft), mag bearing (129, 172, 309 and 352 deg), lat/lon and ILS/LOC frequency (000.00 if none), and finally the altitudes at lz (43 to 39 ft msl).

Hope this helps
