October 30, 201213 yr Hi all, I am wondering why FSX did not take care about the big rivers in Asia, for example the Menam which goes thru Bangkok and the mighty Mekong, which can only be seen in Vietnam, but not in Thailand. . When I look into FSX's birds eye view, all these big rivers are not showing as they should, except a fraction of the Menam in Bangkok. As I am only a user of FSX not a creator of sceneries, I wonder whether there is a possibility to get these rivers, or create them, but this might be very difficult, I can imagine. Would be happy to receive your comments. Best regards Alfred Gruetzner "Dont't look for happyness - live it!"
November 1, 201213 yr You're right, and a problem is finding any source data that can be used for fsx scenery. A possibility is the openstreetmap data, but in my experience OSM isn't that good for a lot of Asia. It can come down to tracing satelite image data. and that gets tedious fast. I've done that for the Malaysian state of Sarawak, and it looks much better when you are done but it's hellacious work. scott s. .
November 1, 201213 yr Sad fact but Microsoft has completely ignored Asia . It looks awful. Bad river , bad sceneries , Incorrect land vectors
