I thought I'd followup WIll's MD-11 startup and takeoff video by recording an approach/landing video. I'm also using one of the new voices, currently Clive is my F/O at the moment and I think the new voices are a big improvement over the old TTS.

 

MCE works just so well with the MD-11, I hope this helps people who are still not decided in buying MCE.

There are other products out there but none works as well as this in the MD-11, and none is as customisable. This is my preferred flow copied from Will's flow, the beauty of MCE is that I was easily able to customise it exactly how I like it.

Yeah true, it's nice to takeover sometimes and do the flows manually and instruct the F/O when we need him. Sometimes I turn on the landing lights, sometimes I tell him to, and I can disarm the speed brake and deploy it if I need drag, and my F/O will check and re-arm it again at the final approach fix.

 

On the A300 I haven't mastered it's fast pace yet, flying the manual STARS and moving between INS to VOR radials. I'm waiting for the FMC, then when I'm experienced with that "easy mode" FMC A300 I'll go back and fly the INS version again as the rest should be automatic and I'll be faster at it hopefully.

Dan, is it possible to get a copy of your voice flows for the PMDG MD11? I quite like the way you have done yours and would not mind testing it out.

Sure no prob, someone else requested them before so I've just updated the file on dropbox.

 

I had one problem flight where controls went funny after the control check, and I removed the controls check from the pre-flight. In hindsight I don't think it was related, so you might want to add that back in if you want it, or maybe keep your own for the cockpit preparation first flow as mine is cut down.
