France VFR

Featured Replies

Just bought France VFR Brittagne. Is there a way to install it on another hardrive as im running out of space on my SSD disk?

Tried to install it on a different drive but the installer told me that it needed to be in the FSX folder, but that I could move it over to another drive after the installation whas finished(How?). Could't find any info on this in the manuals.

BTW anyone knows when if they are going to finish rest of France VFR with autogen?

Is there any other photo scenery out there that has this much autogen?

Sorry for all the questions but I hope somebody can answer atleast my first one asap because I'm running low on space, already downloadig the rest of France VFR and when it finishes It would be nice to have somewhere to put It

Thanks

After twisting my brain a little I was able to move the installation to another hardrive, but I discovered another issue. Have Earth Simulations Alderney, Guernsey and Isles of Scilly, after installing France VFR most of the autogen in ES scenerys dissapeared. Anyone else had this problem?

Help appriciated

Thank for the links, already seen them but forgot to update this thread.

Tried the ES Merge tool. I first removed France VFR, replaced the autogen files to the original ones. Tested ES scenery, autogen worked again. Then I tried to use the ES merge program, did exactly as it said in the manual, backed up autogen, then I installed France VFR, and last merged the files. Now I'm back to exactly the same problem lost the autogen in ES scenery.

Also tried the files in the second link you gave me Dogtrack ,got ES autogen back, but now the autogen trees in France VFR is gone  Spent some hours today on this and starting to get frustrated, any suggestions?

I have a different project on another hardrive where I'm setting up a new FSX installation, what would be the best procedure, intalling ES first and then France VFR using the ES merge tool?

Hey Kaboki, literally only a couple of hours ago I solved exactly the same problem. Here is a link https://earthsims.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/61692-fsx-is-crashing-to-desktop-when-loading-any-scener what is important is to delete the relevent 3D file from within the FSX library list before undertaking the procedure. Once you have completed the procedure you then have to go back into the FSX library and install the same 3D file again. That should do it. However, I did find an issue if I left the Orbx FTX central control panel set to anything else other than default. I would be interested if you get the ES merge tool to function. Keep us informed...

It finally works, did what it said in the second link Dogstar gave me, repaired Alderney. :yahoo: .I first confused that thread with another one i read earlier so I didn't read It, but somehow I decided too take a second look at It and found out that I hadn't read It. Glad I did.

Thanks alot guys for all your help

Hmm, looks like I cheered to soon, got back my autogen in ES scenerys, and have autogen in France VFR, BUT in France VFR Alsage I got only the rooftops of the smallest houses and in Britagne the small houses looks very weird like a mix between default autogen houses and britagne autogen houses.

Is there anyone who actually got these scenerys to coexist, seems impossible for me to get this to work :( ?

This is what it looks like

Britagne

Alsage

Tried reinstalling France VFR Alsace but the houses remain the same only rooftops

Hate these scenerys now, seems like I have to reinstall FSX <_< and stick to only France VFR when I'm done. Feel like I wasted money on these scenerys.

Can't help you there. I do not use ES scenery...very nice but too small an area to bother with. Will be interested to see how your houses/roofs appear after you reinstall fsx. Keep your chin up

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Did you follow my suggestion Kaboki?

Yes i tried your suggestion Howard but it didn't work out for me.

Reinstalling now, think I'll take backup of the autogen folders before I try installing ES scenerys, so I can restore it If anything goes wrong. Too bad if I can't get ES to work with France VFR as I really like them. But If I can't get it too work then I'll stick with France VFR because it covers a bigger area.

Hmmm, have reinstalled Windows and FSX. First I installed Haute Normandie, and then Alsace. Haute normandie is ok, but in alsace the houses only have rooftops! #####. Didn't have this problem the first time i installed this scenery I really don't understand what's going on. This scenery makes me crazy haven't even started installing ES. Seems the differnt France VFR scenerys also messes up each other.

Edit: Contacted France VFR support about the autogen only shows rooftops, they suggested that I reinstalled Alsace in FRENCH instead of English, did that and now It works.

Now I only have to sort out the problem with ES scenerys

Sorry to see you're having so much trouble matey. I did have trouble with ES Guernsey, but I've now sorted it though. Keep us informed of how you get on...
