FSDT KLAX and DX10

Featured Replies

To all the DX10 pilots and the converted DX10 pilots...

I finally found a KLAX airport that is as photo real as you are going to get :yahoo: !!!! LIKE THE SAYING GOES.. "BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME"!!! Thanks to FSDREAMTEAM they did it again!!! It is a great feeling that we now have a team on our side and will expand our DX10 experience :yahoo:

Paul J showed me the FSDTEAMTEAM,COM site and the KLAX DX10 download. It took about 5 seconds to make my mind up and purchase it for a download. And I will say I have not looked back sense. It is a joy to fly around KLAX and just View the great work that they have done with this product! I can ramble on and on, this one you will have to see in DX10.

I flew out of and landed at my new LAX and found a lot of new items that the default one never had!!!

1. all new vehicles traveling around the airport.

2. new taxie lights and runway markings & lights

3. hangers that you can park in just like Orbx

4. palm trees around the airport

5. bridges to pass over with roads underneath the bridges

6. jetways with business names on them

7. new buildings that really look super

8. frame rate went from 29.9 to 11 to 27 up and down around the airport but this can be fixed.

I am very happy to see this done for FSX and it is DX10 Compatiable. I was amazed to see KLAX in all it's glory and at dusk or night time it really shines!!! I will be making videos to show you what it really looks like. Oh, and this time I have a TIR5 to do the video. :yahoo:

Les, I split your post off the SLI/DX10 thread and made a new topic for you. Glad to see you 'found' FSDT....

Best regards,

Jim

Just checked the free KLAX few-minutes-demo from fsdreamteam.

A quick check confirms that night- lights and -textures seem to be ok with DX10...very impressive.

Nevertheless there are a lot of stutters and fps drops to be corrected by the developers.

Other sceneries, FSX default or FTX ect. are running smooth.

The key message is for me: To design for DX10 is feasible; and from commercial standpoint more and more attractive.

You are totally correct Wulf, it is very impressive to say the least! Now I have a question, have you done all the tweaks for DX10 and have a Nvididea Inspector installed? That is if you have an Nvidea card. Paul J has helped me with some tweaks and shutting down proceses on my computer which really helped my computer speed. Check with Paul and hopefully he can help you out. DX10 is the greatest :yahoo: !!

Hi Les,

You asked me if I made the recommended Nvidia tweaks: yes, Jim and Paul gave me an individual and effective support for the fsx.cfg and the nvidia inspector is also adjusted as they had recommended. I am happy with the result.

One weak point is the CPU, but IMHO this is not the reason for the previously mentioned fps ups and downs in KLAX area.

Good morning Wulf,

I have the same issue as you even with the setup that I have. With the 2 cards running in SLI allows me to do a little more than before. By that I mean when I downloaded and installed the FSDT LAX, my frame rates dropped from a 29.+ to 11-14-25 and so on. I talked to Paul J and we tried changing the buffer pool to zero and remming out "//" out bufferpool= and remming out rejectbufferpool=. When we set the buffer pool I then checked the frame rates and no matter where I flew in and around LAX (which is my hardest hit on frame rates) I was getting 29+ again because of the duel video cards in SLI. :yahoo: By setting this in my system the FSX is using the video card processor to render the graphics apposed to having the processor help do the work. Thats how I am getting past the slow processor. Don't miss understand this is not your issue because if I installed a 2600K processor I would have a whole lot better performance than I have now; but I would have t change the bufferpool settings. So, it all boils down to one and only one thing and that is "BALANCE" the system. Paul knows exactly what he is talking about. :yahoo:FS DREAM TREAM ROCKS!!! :yahoo: IM A KID AGAIN FOREVER YOUNGE!!!!
