DX10 Black screen here
Omar, If you want to run in sli you must have two video cards that is coupled together with a ribbon cable. If your card has not got this connector for a ribbon cable then the card is not sli able. Now, when running from one card with two monitors attached to it, there is a whole lot of video power being drawn from the one card and there is no way you will be able to get away from any stuttering in the video in FSX. FSX is a highly graphical program to run and it requires a lot of power / processor power etc to do so with all the add ons we now have available. I know because this sounds like a carbon copy of me in the beginning when I wanted to do the same and run against the same obstacles and questions that you have today. Don't miss understand me, you can still run the two monitors but in sli at this time. Les H :hi:

DX10 and SLI (inspector settings?)
Good morning 331BK, I wouldn't worry about frame rates as long as you don't have stutters in your video while flying. By that I mean when the video gets choppy and not a fluid motion. Even with my system and what I run I will get a little bit of stuttering in a heavy graphical area like LAX and running a highly graphically airport. As far as any Inspector settings for sli have none. I run FSX @5910x1080x32. I run 3 - 27" monitors without a problem and that takes some power to do that. If you like you can click on "my computer" on the side bar or you can click on the blue bar at the end of this comment and actually see my specs in detail. I also run sli through the the Nvidia control panel under the 3-D PHYSX configuration setup. I am in hopes this will help you? Les H :hi:

DX10 Black screen here
Good morning Omar, First question is; are you running the two monitors from a single video card that has two connectors, one for each monitor? And your not running with a video split-er so you can run from the single video card? I have run more than one monitor on my system but I have 4 connectors for monitors in DVI mode. Les H

Video Discussion: Microsoft Flight Simulator History Movie (with music)
I remember well these videos and how MS Flight Simulator evolved to where it is today. This is something everyone that is new to the simulator because they really don't know exactly how it has evolved to the present. Thanks to all that took the time and effort to bring this part of the history of the simulator that all love to fly today. :yahoo: These videos took me way back when I first started the flights on my Apple IIE with 64 K of ram. It is amazing on how far we have come today and this is what I was hoping for all these years. Thank you Tom for putting the video on Avsim for all to see. Les H :hi:

Help Required Re Activation Problem
Good morning Toriu, I understood part of your problem was activating your Acceleration in FSX. The file I gave you was set up only for that purpose as quite a while back I had the same problem and MS was still supporting FSX. Other than that, the file is all I can help you with as it is beyond my scope. lh

Help Required Re Activation Problem
Good morning toriu, I have had the same issue some time ago and when MS was still supporting fsx they had a file on their website that fixed the activation problem. If you are still in need of fixing the activation issue, let me know and I can get the fixer for you as I have downloaded it and saved the file. Regards , lh

DX10 with and without the fixer, conclusions ?
Good morning everyone, If I can I would like to chime in on this one. I have been away from FSX for awhile now. I have to say with out a doubt that FSX DX10 now runs exactly the way that I wanted it to run years ago :yahoo: !! With Steves DX10 fixer and with pj's help and suggestions I now have a brand new sim to fly and am amazed at the lighting at night which I had blinking lights and now I have steady flow of lights when flying. Also, the papi lights are fixed and I now have realistic lights on the papi lights and runway lights. Thank you Steve P and pj for a sim that is now great to fly with. Now for FPS, I also have a frame rate decrease even with the beefed up machine that I run. The real and only reason is how much am I running when I have the low fps? When I run all of my scenery, weather, aircraft and my load on graphics is extremely high and don't miss understand I am not talking about jacking the sliders to max. While flying at LAX I will get a lower FPS around 12-16-22. The reason is that California is highly graphically intense. This is one testing I have done and then I flew in my hometown and the FPS is running very smooth and with the highly intense graphics in the LAX area and others will have a heck of a pull on the machine. This is a common thing and you can not get away from it. Take a look at "my pc" and you can see what the machine is running at. So, when the graphics stutters a little bit and I am getting less fps than I think I should I now think of how much I am pushing the machine to do what my demands on the machine are. Anther thing is when I fly LAX I should be shutting down all the scenery that i am not planning on flying over and this is done through the FSX Scenery Library. This will help. I might add, my profile on what I run is not up to date and when I get some time I will have to update it. Les H :hi:

How to start on a video?
Good morning Sascha, in response to your question on what to use for making a video? There are many video editing program out there. One program you now have which Fraps is an excellent program to record the video from the screen. Two programs that I have is Ultra Power Director 10, by CyberLink and Movie Edit Pro 17 HD by Magix. Both programs are great programs, but I found for me that I prefer Movie edit when I make a video. Before purchasing your program read and see if you need all the bells an whistles. I also tried Windows movie editor and found it didn't have what I wanted. I am in hopes I have pointed you in the right direction? Have a good one and will be looking forward to seeing your video when completed. :yahoo: Les H :hi:

Steve's dx10 fixer grays out the water shader. Why?

Steve's dx10 fixer grays out the water shader. Why?
Good morning flyforever, First question. Before you installed Steve's fixer did you make a copy of your stock shader's? If you did, you can copy them back into FSX and bring back your original shader's, and then re install Steve's fixer and first print out the manual and follow it. I am hope this might help? The shaders are found in your FSX root directory under "Textures". Les H :hi:

DX10 Fixer released!
You simmers that are complaining about Steve Parsons fixer should thank god that there is a programmer out there and I will say an excellent programmer that has taken his time to fix what Microsoft should long time ago. You would not have DX10 running the way it is running today with his fixes. I had paid the price and because of the new fixes I have purchased FTXG and I have not looked back. And if it wasn't for his fixes I would not have proper shadows in my A2A C-172 trainer and the great looking scenery in the Orbx global scenery. So please let the man get what wants for his program and quit whining. lh :hi:

DX10 Fixer released!
Good morning all you DX0 PREVIEW simmers! I now have Steve Parsons fixer installed with the help of my old friend pj. What took place before we installed was to insert a my backup textures of the original files. We then run the DX10 fixer. Everything looked good until I run my A2A Piper Cub, NO VC SHADOWS! I then read the manual and it told me about the "Enabling VC Shadows" on page 58. So then I went looking for the DX10 TOOLBOX, it is located in the folder you had installed the DX10 fixer. There is a mistake in the writing as it says make sure you make a backup of the file you are about to change. When you make the change the program will make a copy of the file with "ORIG" on the beginning of the file, so you do have a copy of the old file which you can go back to and use if need be. I talked to PJ and he emailed Steve to let him know about the typo. I then used the DX10 TOOLBOX and added the shadows on the A2A Cub. Loaded the cub in and checked a clear day and started the cub. When I primed the engine I could see very clearly the knob being pulled out and going in as the shadow on the cock pit showed that. I did not have that before the final version because of not having the toolbox to make the changes on the some aircraft. :yahoo: I also run the A2A C-172 trainer. Now get this I still had jagged edges on the shadows after running the fixer. I then talked to my old friend again and he mentioned the sun visors and that might be the problem with the sun shinning through the front wind screen and reflecting on the dash. I then pulled both sun visors down and that corrected the uneven shadows which was show the correct shadows in the first place. After all this and with total satisfaction on the fixer I went on line and purchased FTX Global base pack. I then run that installation and found a whole new sim again with the gorgeous landscape that I have never seen before!! :yahoo: Now for the prices, I was surprised the low cost in Steve's fixer, For the time and late night working on something he could had kept for himself is very low priced in deed. Also I want to include the beta testers as they worked just as hard, thank you all. We now have a sim that should had been fixed long ago and now we have it fixed. I spent $32 fr the fixer and $99.95 for the FTXG and I haven't looked back. We all want a piece of the cake but we sometimes complain about the frosting on the cake. So smile :Just Kidding: we now have what we have waiting so long for. My :hi: goes off for Steve and the testers!! Now we will see a lot of new programs for FSX DX10. Les H :hi:

FSX Freezes when in full screen mode
Good morning Howelleman, Sorry to say the freezing has not been solved as of yet. I had talked to my close friend and he recommended that the Microsoft update be uninstalled which is KB270838. We looked in the update history and it was there so it was uninstalled. I then run FSX and flew the route and everything went fine. I then flew again later that day and it and FSX froze again. We then looked at SweetFX and disabled it. I didn't fly after that, so I can't comment yet. I plan on flying today so I will find out if this will fix the problem. As far as Pepar3d, I personally I think you will see it as it is going to be in it's current state as far as DX11 is concerned. The reason I say this is; Lockheed Martin is not a small company and with the resources they have they could have written FSX themselves without Microsoft's help. But they are trying to rebuild an old program. This is my opinion on this subject and this is the main reason I have not made the move. Les :hi:

FSX Freezes when in full screen mode
It has been some time sense I have made a post here on Avsim. I have been running a one man shooter game so here I am now. The last time I had run FSX in the D-10 mode it was freezing on me about 5 minutes into the flight and this happened every flight I was in no matter what plane I few. This AM I decided to print out my FSX.CFG file and take a look. As you can see in my computer information I run (3) 27 inch monitors. Now in Windowed mode I had no freeze ups in FSX. In full screen mode I would have the freeze ups!! I am running my displays in FSX at 5760x1080x32. When I looked on my .CFG printout in the [DISPLAY.DEVICE.NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX580.0] line I noticed the setting was set @ mode=1024x768x32 which was not what I had for the display settings which was 5760x1080x32. I then changed the setting 1080x768x32 to 5760x1080x32 and saved the fsx.cfg file. I then loaded FSX in D-10 mode and turned on real time weather @ KLAX and made a flight around the area and low and behold the problem was resolved!! The reason I am posting this is, if you have an issue with freeze ups you might want to print your CFG file and take a look at it; I did and now I am happy happy happy :yahoo: !!!! LH :hi:

DX10 with TH2GO
Darthranger, I do not run TG2GO but I do run FSX on 3 - 27" monitors using two invidia cards and the nvvidia setup for multiple monitors. I also run FSX in DX10 without an issue in windows mode and in full screen mode which is better than windowed mode. I know this is not your answer to your question. I do know that Paul J runs 3 monitors with his TH2GO and loves it. you might address your question to him and he can fill you in on just what he had to do and how it works with his system. With my setup there was no need for TH2GO. Have a good one :yahoo: MAY DX10 LIVE FOREVER!!! LH

Strange 3d grass issue
You are on the right track in finding the issue with the grass. I run FSX totally in DX10 and nothing else. After all of my computer upgrades and over clocking has made a world of difference. I might note that I have funny things go on in DX10 and I found that when I went into the scenery library and started shutting down one scenery at a time I found the one that was giving me the issue. The one that was giving me the headach was FSDREAMTEAM (KLAX) and Mega Scenry SoCal by PC AVIATOR. Now here is the kicker as I put it, ok? When I uninstalled SoCal the issue went away. I then installed some other FSX software and then later re-installed SoCal and the issue went away. So somewhere in the installation of the software a file got messed up and through the process everything worked it's way out. I am 69 and have been with the PC ever sence in the 80's and some strange things has happened in that time that no one can or could explain other than a programer. I have also found if you have downloaded and installed a new video card driver, sometimes the new driver has messed things up. If this is the cae then I would roll back the driver to the previous driver and see if that will take care of the problem. There are so many things that can cause problems; these are just a few that can and will. Les H :hi:

Strange 3d grass issue
It looks like you have some file coruptoion in this scenery. re-install it and your problem should be correted. I had this simular issue at one time and that is what i had to do to correct it. Les H :hi:

just bought pmdg737 ngx
Hi 37357, I also have Spad for my Saitek panals and it dose work with the NGX but only for that plane and the Saitek panals. I have found when I start FSX and the splash screen is up, then that is when I load Spad. The panals then will initiate and then go blank. Make sure you have the NGX selected and then "Click "fly now" and when the NGX loads in the panals will give you same readings as the gauges have. You then will be able to change them at will. I am in hopes this will help with the "0000" displays on your panals. Les H :hi:
