November 11, 201213 yr Hi, a bit confused about the attached screenshot (AS2012 SP2): the METAR says CAVOK and, temporarily, showers, with broken clouds at 1400 feet. Why does the graphic representation indicate overcast clouds and moderate rain? Thanks. James Goggi
November 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member The rain is normal, the METAR is indicating SHRA (rain showers, moderate intensity). The overcast is probably due to you having "Fog Layer Generation" turned on, and since visibility is less than 3SM (about 2.5 in this case), the fog layer is being generated.
