November 15, 201213 yr Hello I created my first repaint but it seems to lag my pc when I use my skin... Could it be that I used higher texture resolutions or is that resolution in the .psd files that are the same as other skins? Cheers Marc M.

Cheers It should be the same res, but those high bit DXT textures can be a drain on display. Try compressing it a bit. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
November 15, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the reply. I save it as DXT5? How would I compress it? Thanks again Marc M.
November 15, 201213 yr Thanks for the reply. I save it as DXT5? How would I compress it? Thanks again I'm not sure if you can with any DXT, format. You would have to try a different format, and try not to have 32 bit selected. Maybe 16bit instead. Make sure it supports alpha if you choose a lower bit. Might be a good time for someone else to interject? J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
November 16, 201213 yr Might be a good time for someone else to interject? Sounds like that, if I may say so... Marc, all repaints are asved as 4096*4096 maps, which is what the paintkit is geared up for. Now, make sure you save the repaint right - .dds, DXT5 format, no mipmaps. --Peter Fabian
November 16, 201213 yr Compare file sizes to the default. If hi res, "4096", they should be the same file size, and in theory should run the same. A high res texture will usually be 16k if I remember right. You can also edit the images for lower res if you want. My everyday Southwest jet is painted at 1024, and you can hardly tell the difference from high res unless you get really close. But some of my repaints are full 4096, and I've seen no problems loading them. I save all mine as DXT5. Mark Keith
