Default landmarks and buildings

Featured Replies

Hello All,I am trying to find the default "sights" in the FS world....For example there are the Pyramids in Giza, the Taj Mahal in Agra... these exist in the MS scenery... does anyone know of others?I am not talking about the major cities...we all know Paris and London, Rome and New York etc have many sights.... but others.... I couldn't find the Blue Mosque in Istambul.Thanks....Paul ( SPIM )Bye the way, Machu Picchu here in Peru doesn't exist.... nor do the Nazca Lines....shame!

I went looking for some landmarks in FS a while ago, and these are a few of the ones I came up with:Inca pyramid near Mexico Cityweather balloon over Key West, FloridaOld Faithful geyser in Wyoming (no buildings around it, though)Stonehenge in EnglandSpace Shuttle launch pad is very much improved over FS2002stone statues on Easter Island were present in FS2002, but for some reason are not in FS9Ayers Rock in AustraliaMicrosoft Headquarters in Redmond, WAOshkosh air showI think I have a list of most of the landmarks in FS2002 somewhere, I'll try to find it. There are new ones in FS2004 that aren't on the list though.-Scott

Scott,I have to argue with you on this minor point. The statues are indeed present on Easter Island, but they are extremely small and hard to find (I was in a helo and barely found them). Just one small point! :)

Thanks,I am off in search of those hard to find statues.....Shame there aren't more Castles around Europe.PaulPS It was the Aztecs/Mayas in Central America...Incas in South America...

Cinderella's castle at Disney World (and another building that I imagine is the Space Mountain ride) and the sphere at Epcot Center are present in Florida. Also among the notable missing landmarks are the statue of Christ at Rio de Janeiro and the new WWII monument in Washington DC. Not that Microsoft should have added the WWII monument in 2003, before it was finished, but I'm a little surprised nobody has created one as an add-on yet.

>>Space Shuttle launch pad is very much improved over FS2002;)

>>>Space Shuttle launch pad is very much improved over>FS2002<<>>I trust you made that judgment in slew mode or using Active>Camera or something similar, because that's RESTRICTED>AIRSPACE, you know.;) lol no, i just managed to get a quick look at it before I was shot down by a couple of AI F-16s (now THERE'S something I'd like to see in FS2006...of course, that would mean my days of landing a floatplane on the Washington Monument reflecting pool would be over)! Thanks for the info about Easter Island, Jim; I managed to just find one statue near the airport, are there more scattered around the island? Sorry for mistake about the Incas vs. the Mayans, I always get those screwed up.-ScottPS- I think the list of Easter Eggs is on my old computer; I'll try to dig it up later on today. I believe it has coordinates for everything, too; makes it very easy to find stuff.

Hovering around the coastline of the island, I managed to find a couple, but as you can now see, it's very difficult to find them!

Well I found 2 of them,Tough little things to spot!I'm off to see if I can find any other landmarks.... I've checked various places and not found any...notably.. Amritsar ( Golden Temple ), Mecca, so I guess they stayed away from Religious sites... so I will continue for the Ancient wonders type of thing...maybe Pompei or Ephesus? Thanks for the replies folks,Paul ( SPIM )
