July 23, 200421 yr Before I try to deactivate every one of my scenery layers to try to find the culprit, has anyone had this problem before? I have several oversized Nordeste buildings appearing in KBOS. They only show up if you get to within about 2000 feet of them. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/85086.jpgAny ideas? :-( Please help.Misha
July 24, 200421 yr Author Weird! Have never seen this in default or with George Grimshaw or Ray Taburet's scenery of KBOS, Misha. So I don't think it's KBOS stuff of any kind. Someone, somewhere, has to recognise those buildings.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 24, 200421 yr It only takes a few seconds to remove the checkmarks from the add-on sceneries (deactivate) in the Scenery Library, allow FS to boot and then reboot the program once more and return to KBOS for a view of the results. This will at least determine if the source is indeed an add-on somewhere.Once that is established, go back and activate an add-on or two or three, and then reboot as stated. Eventually, using this procedure, the culprit should show up and you will have narrowed the search. In fact, if this is a more recent glitch, you should have only the last entries that you've installed to contend with instead of the whole Library. We can sit here and speculate along with you until the cows come home....but that's all it would be....a guessing contest.
July 24, 200421 yr Author If that were me, with nearly 300 add-on sceneries, that would take a while! Here's hoping the author of those NORDESTE buildings spots this thread and helps out here. Not Leon Louis, by any chance?Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 24, 200421 yr To me, it looks like the effect from zooming...Try hitting the plus sign several times to zoom in or out and see what happens. When you change zoom angle or width by zooming, it is like using a wideangle or telephoto lens, and causes lots of distortion.
July 24, 200421 yr It's their way of trying to scare you, like how a bird spreads its wings to make itself look bigger.They're harmless, though. H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
July 25, 200421 yr Misha, AFAIk, this is a conflict with a Northern Brazilian (Fortaleza?) airport scenery. There was a query a while ago. Let me see if I can find the link... Hmmm? Bingo: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchHope this helps. Kind regards Jaap

July 25, 200421 yr http://airlines.afriqonline.com/airlines/596.htmwill show why it is in the Brazilian scenery. Must be the hub for it.
July 25, 200421 yr Jaap, Thanks for that link. That's probably it. Will put KBOS at top priority and try again. Misha
