November 22, 201213 yr I got a new joystick, so I figured to go back and do some of the challenges, including the obstacle courses and hoops. Those are the ones where extra points are earned by doing aerobatics. Here are my extra aerobatic points: 10 points for a roll: 55 points for a loop: 1000 points (!) for... crashing! :LMAO: Of course, just because I have a new joystick doesn't mean I am good with it. And evidently I failed the obstacle course. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
November 22, 201213 yr I never got that one completed either Luis. Guess I should also go back a try it again. I also see we have spell check now, I needed that badly. Maybe it was always there but not working with IE8? Now I am using Firefox and everything works better, I must say! Steve
November 22, 201213 yr What's the brand & model of that beauty anyway? BTW. I tried your touch-and-go technique with the Cub. I just grabbed 5 out of 5 seaplane bases that way. Thanks!
November 22, 201213 yr Author  Good for the seaplane bases! I had (still do) a Logitech Force Feedback stick, wonderful, very supple and great feel. Unfortunately, it seems they quickly go bad, the potentiometers get all gummed up. The solution is to take it apart and soak the pots in alcohol. But, I never got to it and the stick is still in pieces in a bag. Then, I got a Saitek Force Feedback stick, yuck! Force Feedback, but with a stiff spring as well for those games without FF. I hate springs, hate pulling against them. Anyway, this stick was defective from the start and never calibrated correctly, really hard to fly that way. Saitek Support told me to return it to the store, but I bought it in NY and won't fly back just to return a junky stick. Now, since Force Feedback is no longer supported, I got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (who the heck comes up with these names?) at the local supermarket for a good price. No FF, just a stiff spring. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck. Guess I'll just have to get used to it. Or, fly with the mouse. On a more serious note, I inwardly smile when people pretend they are "serious" simmers. There are so many major differences between the real thing and flight games, and one of them is controls like sticks that have such unrealistic feel. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
