USB Disconnect Problem

Featured Replies

Hello All, after a complete reinstall of FSX under Win 8 with all associated addons back up and running, I now have the problem where after a time of flying (10 minutes or so), my USB controllers (CH Flight Sim Yoke, CH Throttle Quadrant, and Saitek rudder pedals) all die. I went into control panel and set things so that the computer never goes to sleep, and I also changed the USB selective suspend setting to disabled. I have all of my USB controllers plugged directly in to the rear of my computer, so there are hubs to worry about. Any ideas? Thanks!! Paul

I have had similar issues when using the ACARS system from one of my Virtual Airlines. Just one of three different ACARS so it is likely a software conflict.

Scratching my old head trying to work out what ACARS has to do with USB controllers.

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

Software conflicts. When I look at the controller in FSX after this happens, all I see are Mouse Look and Mouse Yoke. Somehow it appears software conflicts disable controllers. The ACARS are software.

After doing some more research on the interwebs, I found one possible solution, and that is to set FSX compatibility mode to XP service pack 3. I have tried it, and so far, so good. I'll post back with an update after more flying! Paul
