November 24, 201213 yr Hi there. I am using GE Pro, Ultimate terrain, REX, fs genesis mesh, Zinertek night environment. Now, when flying at night, my textures are blurry. Textures near my aircraft load up faster, which is obvious to me, but the ones further away don't and are not as "crisp" as the nearby ones. Is this because my computer is having to take time to load up the textures? Is there any setting i can use to minimize the time required to load the textures or do i have to change GE Pro or Ultimate terrain or something? 2 images: EXAMPLE 1: http://postimage.org/image/4lgbhju3z/ EXAMPLE 2: http://postimage.org/image/6y26vqpoh/ This happens during the daytime too. Not just at night.
November 25, 201213 yr Welcome to the limitations of FS9, unfortunately. I don't believe anyone has truly figured out how to fix the problem.
November 25, 201213 yr The very distant "blurry" (not sharp) textures in my FS 2004 as I approach them, seem to accurately represent the natural conditions of; smoke, fog, rain, mist, low cloud, etc, ie: poor visibility.... ...also the restrictions of my eyesight! Sometimes, as E6 mentions, the Flight Sim sufferers from the dreaded; "Catch-up", where you are travelling faster than the scenery can load, particularly when flying fast at low level. Limitations of the processor, graphics card, memory, and HDD update speed! Sometimes I have to "pause" the Sim for a while, to allow "things" to catch-up!... ...! Paul...FS 2004+ FS Nav... :Big Grin: ...!
November 25, 201213 yr ahh, the blurries. Countless graphic card upgrades, and I am very nearly at the point where ground textures will focus correctly. Hit the pause button and you will see them come into focus eventually. Don't pan your head around as you wait. If they never do come into focus then maybe you have some specific problem. You can fiddle with the fs9 config file. I remember something about terrain_max_texture_mult option, and changing it to 400. You will have to search the forum for fs9 config tweaks,or someone can point you to it.
