PSS 777 new VC textures
If you want this on the POSKY/SkySpirit-PSS Boeing 777's, check out my merges. 777-200ER: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/392445-new-poskyskyspirit-pss-boeing-777-200er-merge-packages/ 777-300ER: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426133-new-poskyskyspirit-pss-boeing-777-300er-merge-package/ Delete the wing views from the panel.cfg. Change the model to a VC version from POSKY (I think you will need the original POSKY models not the newer SkySpirit models as they don't come with a VC). Add VC textures into the texture folder Add the VC config into the VCockpit section of the panel.cfg And i think that is all you will have to do. Enjoy ^_^ Nandan

Aircraft turning on the runway during takeoff and in the air during landing
During the past few years, i have noticed, during takeoff, the aircraft turns into the direction the wind is coming from. This means i have had to constantly apply rudder to keep it on the centreline of the runway. Is this meant to happen? It happens to any aircraft, and what ever the winds are. Even if they are very light, at say 5knots, the problem still occurs. During arrival, on ILS, the aircraft flies smoothly until i disengage the autopilot. When i disengage at 100-200ft above the runway, the aircraft turns in the air and makes landing the plane as close as i can on the centreline very difficult, sometimes having to apply left aileron, not just rudder, to correct the turn. Once i have landed, it sometimes turns in the direction the wind is coming from (like the effect that happens during takeoff), so more rudder needs to be applied. My question is, is this normal? Has it happened to anyone else? Is there a fix/solution to stop this, well at least for the takeoff roll? I understand that strong winds may cause this behavior, but even 5 knot winds? Would there be a fix to stop the turning effect at say below 7 knots but enable it to occur above 7 knots? Because i am certain the takeoff problem has been occurring since i first got FS2004. Even in it's stock FS2004 state (no addons or anything) i am pretty sure it occurs. Thanks, Nandan

Qualitywings 757- complicated?
Learning FMC's is a great fun and a wonderful challenge! You'll be able to fly real routes the real aircraft fly etc. You could also start flying on vatsim or IVAO to make the experience that much better  ! FMC would be great help. Have fun!

Best night flying combo
I am currently running Zinertek Night environment, GE Pro night textures and Ultimate Terrain night lights. Is it best to use all 3 at once? Is there a specific order to update the textures and such, such as installing the Ultimate terrain textures then GE Pro. I understand that it doesn't matter the order they are installed for use in flight sim (i.e. you can click the icon, load up what you want applied to fs, you know what i mean...?), but applying them, does it make a difference? GE Pro and Ultimate terrain it doesn't matter in the order they're installed, but does it matter when Zinertek is installed? Because fs upgrades when you install Zinertek, not like GE Pro and Ultimate Terrain where you open the program and install the textures. Any other addons to make it a better experience? Cheers.

So for baseline improvements (not going hardout into Mip Maps etc) we just need DXTFixerX. Cool. Will try it out then.

Blurry ground textures
Hi there. I am using GE Pro, Ultimate terrain, REX, fs genesis mesh, Zinertek night environment. Now, when flying at night, my textures are blurry. Textures near my aircraft load up faster, which is obvious to me, but the ones further away don't and are not as "crisp" as the nearby ones. Is this because my computer is having to take time to load up the textures? Is there any setting i can use to minimize the time required to load the textures or do i have to change GE Pro or Ultimate terrain or something? 2 images: EXAMPLE 1: http://postimage.org/image/4lgbhju3z/ EXAMPLE 2: http://postimage.org/image/6y26vqpoh/ This happens during the daytime too. Not just at night.

FMC ISSUE
Also, you could try youtube for some videos on fmc tutorials and such. That's how i learnt my airbus fmc, i watched an actual real piot program his fmc on his A320. Try it out! The videos help! Once you get the hang of 1 Boeing fmc, you'll basically mastered all Boeing aircraft fmc's.

Navigation lights problem SkySpirit 777 model update
Hey, i updated my old POSKY SP2A model to the new SkySpirit one. But now the navigation lights don't work. I added in only 2 new xml's though, PkyFlasher and Pky_AdvInit as i read through the xml coding and the other xml's starting with SS are the same as the ones i had on my older POSKY aircraft. I have also added the PkyFlasher xml into the panel.cfg file. I have also updated my POSKY utility and added in the cabin textures into the texture folder. This is because the navigation lights are connected to the model itself right? Could you please help me get them to work. I have also asked on their facebook page. Any help would be appreciated. This is for the 777-200ER by the way. SkySpirit 777 update: http://ssp.cyber-ninja.jp/SSP2012-777V2Update.html (Sorry for the above font. Copied and pasted my post)

POSKY/SkySpirit 777 models
Hi there. Looking at this link, it seems skyspirit have updated their 777 models: http://ssp.cyber-ninja.jp/SSP2012-777V2Update.html. Are these the latest models? And are these the same as the POSKY aircraft? Or is SP2A the latest model for the 777? Here is the link for the archive: http://poskyarchive.com/index.php?dir=Boeing%2FBoeing+777%2F777-200%2FModel+Packages%2F Looking at the SP2A models, i see they have last been modified in 2008, while the SkySpirit one i downloaded is 2012. Just a bit confusing, need someone to clear up the confusion. Thanks!

A Huge FPS Increase
Can we just run Dxtfixerx for the fix? Are making mip maps and such really necessary?
-
Hello everyone can someone please help me out please LOL
Did you set the correct runway for departure and also is your first way point the first point on the route? After takeoff, press the LNAV button and your autopilot should be on. Also, you should press POS INIT not ROUTE and follow the pages through. Then go through to the ROUTE and enter a route. Hope this helps.

A Huge FPS Increase
Do we have to change it individually and every single one? Do i have to make a mip map etc? Can i just use Dxtfixerx and just do that small upgrade rather than the complicated stuff cause i will have no hang of it and don't want to spend so much time haha. I know, im a lazy fella hehe. Can i just Dxtfixerx it?

A Huge FPS Increase
So can someone please clarify what software we need exactly? I've read through every comment and by the looks of it you just need dxtfixerx? Could someone post instructions on exactly what we need in terms of the software and what we need to do, I'm sure many others would also appreciate it ^_^ . One of the hardout guys who understand it completely could do it maybe? Cheers everyone! Would be appreciated  . Thanks!

posky/pss 777 help
I made the "Singapore Virtual PSS POSKY" merge . It was for Singapore Virtual, but feel free to take it if you can find it  . It uses a modified air file which was made by my friend, who got flight data from the real aircraft, and tested the aircraft against real world operations. His dad gave him the data from the real 777-200ER when he was flying in real life, and he then modified the air file to match this, and also tested it against real flights to achieve the most realistic 777-200ER he could get. The merge is for the Boeing 777-200ER. Just change the thrust in the "static_thrust=" under the "[TurbineEngineData]" of the aircraft.cfg for the various engines. For the various engines on the 777-200ER, change to the following: PW4090: static_thrust=90000 GE90-94B: static_thrust=93700 RR Trent 895: static_thrust=93400 RR Trent 892: static_thrust=92000 Also change the weights under [weight_and_balance], MTOW are as follows: PW4090: static_thrust=648000 GE90-94B: static_thrust=656000 RR Trent 895: static_thrust=656000 RR Trent 892: static_thrust=656000 Jeez, been away from these forums for agesss lol. Think more than a year haha. Hope this helps :smile2:

1 computer with 7 monitors
Haha, ok. So i have decided that if i build a home pit, i will use 1 good computer (just like my current one, which will be a hell of a lot cheaper now than it was last year) and 1 average as one to network which i will hopefully be able to get for under $150-$200 just to display the gauges for captain, copilot and the FMC and Lower Displays.
-
1 computer with 7 monitors
Ok. But just so my system will last longer i can do what this guy did right? http://www.737ng.co.uk/setup.htm . I want to do what he has so there's less strain on my system. He used PMDG 737 for his views on 3 computers. Is it just a matter of networking and then dragging the displays onto each screen which is connected to 1 of the 3-4 computers?
-
1 computer with 7 monitors
Yes I am using FS9. Thanks for the explanation of FSXpand! Got it now. Can i network 3 computers so that my 1 computer won't take such a hit when i use the popup gauges? Is this possible? I.e. use 1 computer to show the main captain, centre and copilot screens while another is devoted to the touch screens for FMC and overhead and the other to show the outside graphics. Thanks for the help!Cheers!

1 computer with 7 monitors
Thanks for the replies. My rig's specifications are in my signature . What im thinking of is using pop up displays for PFD and MFD etc and for the overhead use the largest touch screen i can find and for the FMC and lower display use another 17 inch touch screen or something. Then resize the gauges and move them into correct places on the MIP. Is this possible? Also will FSXpand help me with this or will i have to use FSPanel Studio to edit gauges and add more into the cockpit etc. Check out my other thread for FSXpand: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/349516-using-fsxpand-on-addons-for-pfd-etc-displays/ If i get another bad cheap PC, will it be able to show the graphics clearly if i network the 2 together? I.e. use the other PC to show the displays (3 screens for PFD, ND and EICAS etc) and use my good PC with FS9 on it to show the inflight graphics and the overhead (so 3 screens). Cheers and thanks for the help.

1 computer with 7 monitors
Hi there.I want to build a cheap home cockpit. Will I be able to use 1 computer for 7 monitors? This is what i want 7 monitors for:3 x Monitors for main Captain, Centre and Co pilot displays (I.e on the MIP).1 x Touch screen monitor for Lower display and FMC and squawkbox etc.2 x Large Monitors for scenery display1 x Touch screen monitor for overhead panel (so don't have to build one, will have to use FS9 addons for overhead panel):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWGRZAVNb20&feature=player_embedded This is because I want to use the FS9 addons for my displays, eg PMDG 747 for a 747 cockpit and PSS 777 for 777 cockpit etc (just undock and drag the displays -PFD, MFD etc- to each different screen). Not sure if it will work though so need your help on this.Is this possible, ie using FS9 addons for displays and using 1 computer with FS9 on it to show these displays on 7 monitors...?I am planning to use:VRinsight autopilot module for the MCP,2x Saitek Yoke2x Saitek Rudder pedals,Saitek Pro Flight Switch panel for landing gear and autobrakes etc,Goflight throttle QuadrantGoflight Radio StackSimilar cockpits to what mine will look like:www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy_uPWJrXQQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=IYw7L4kz-V0&feature=relatedCheers.
