Hi, quick question as i my self have no idea if this effects fsx in anyway but id like to know,

does the size of your monitor make a diffrance ?

how would they compare if someone was running a 32" and someone else a 37"

this is a single screen set up at the min am looking for ways to get the best from fsx

One would be 5 inches bigger. :P

I think that bigger the monitor, the better the experience. Just get something larger than you currently have, and you'll be happy. Going from a big monitor to a smaller monitor, on the other hand, would leave you dissapointed, or at least it would me.

i have a 37 at the min and just in the process of doing some upgrades , i guess i just want more lol,

I replaced a 24in lcd monitor with a 37in 1080P LED TV. I originally thought about a 32in but decided to try 37. The added real estate is immersive but the shimmering is a little more obvious than the high resolution monitor. I upgraded to GTX 680 to run higher AA and SGSS to minimize shimmering lines.

I think you have to consider pixel density. If you go w/ a large screen like 37" you should consider getting higher resolution than 1900 x 1080 as image quality will suffer if you put the 37" at that resolution closer to your eyes so you will have a larger field of view to enjoy. By the time you move the 37" screen farther from you (so that you don't see the pixelation as much) you have defeated the purpose of the larger screen, i.e. you can take a 24" screen at that same resolution and just move it closer to you and end up w/ an effective field of view that is the same as the 37". Big screen gotta go w/ big resolution, at least that is my approach. I'm ultra happy w/ 24" at 1920 x 1200 which sits about 24" in front of me and looks peachy ;o). If I change anything it will be to add more smaller screens.

Bigger the monitor = higher immersion = more pixels = less performance

Bigger monitor with less pixels, aka beamer with 1080 or 60incher with FullHD "only" = need to sit further away due to pixelation, same as sitting 50cm from a 27incher with 2560pixels.

If using beamer, I suggest full sized cockpit without VC, then you can run 3 big screens, having a real big picture, but should not run VC, as it absolutely kills the performance.

i use nvidia control panel to change my resolution i have it at

1080,1600 x 900

should this be set the same in fsx too ?

im running a 37" i would drop to a 32 for better performance if i had to but wouldnt want to go much lower than that,

if i wernt to use the VC i wouldnt use fsx at all

Craig, it doesn't matter if 37inches, 32inchers or 60inches. If the resolution is *the same*, then the performance is going to be the same.

You should be running the display NATIVE RESOLUTION. Not anything else chosen. This resolution is going to be available to you. With TVs, it's usually 1920x1080 if FullHD.
