November 30, 201213 yr Hello, my name's Viktor. I'm new here, so hi everyone. Umm, I have a problem. I purchased a boxed DVD version of PMDG j4100 from Aerosoft and have a hard time activating the product, I already contacted them and they asked me to contact pmdg directly. I input the registration key glued inside the box, but I don't think it's the key I need because it just opens a new window just like the one I was typing into and nothing happens. The reason I ordered boxed, because download requires online activation and since I don't have internet(typing from different pc right now), I thought boxed version was covered and I won't have any problems. Please help me activate it offline or do something. I can provide all sorts of validation. Well, umm, registration, purcase date, and order number. I think that's all I received in the e-mail when I made a purchase. Please help, I purchased it on Saturday and received on Monday and today is already Thursday ending and I'm still hunting aerosoft and well, you guys now for help. Thanx in advance. edit: oh and i registered with pmdg support and never received validating my account e-mail, i even clicked resend button in preferences and still nothing...
November 30, 201213 yr Commercial Member Our boxed versions all require online activation as well - this is supposed to be clearly stated by anyone selling them and it is printed on the boxes. You don't need a permanent connection, but you do need one for the initial validation after first running the airplane. If you can get a connection on the FS PC temporarily to do that, it'll work fine unconnected after that. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
November 30, 201213 yr Author Thank you for the quick response and a polite one too. But I think it will be quite embarrassing to carry a 50 pound tower around my backyard asking a neighbor to connect to his internet. By the way, PMDG ticket response was very similar, but I really need you guys to help me out. I understand that it says to connect to internet to validate, but if it said boxed versions too, I doubt I would have bought this product. I'm not angry or anything like that, but it will be a hassle for me to push this deal into action. This is my first product from PMDG and was going to be Not the last as I see you guys make some interesting work. Please make this happen for an offline user and I will be very glad. Thank you. P.S, I know, I am among one percent without internet home pc, but we exist and are potential customers too. Thank you in advance. I appreciate your help. Looking forward to hearing from you or one of your staff.
November 30, 201213 yr Hi Vik, The above answer was from Ryan, he is from PMDG. I'm afraid that if he says its not possible offline, then that's it. Seems you will have no other option but to take your 50 pound tower over to your neighbour's place... Either that, or get internet :-) Its a useful tool. Greetings! Sander Rutte
